chapter, Sons of the American Revo
lution. at Ball’s Ferry, the most his
toric spot in Wilkinson county.
A most interesting program giving
reverence to Old Glory after" the
meeting was called to order with
prayer by Miss Maye Lamb.
Mrs C. G. Kitchens, the regent,
welcomed the visitors, The response
was given by Reginald Hatcher of
Milledgeville. Mrs. Y. Harris Yar
brough, regent of the Nancy Hart
chapter D. A. R., of Milledgeville,
brought greetings from her chapter.

the W. C. T. U. gave a short and
stirring address on true patriotism.
Hon. Geo H. Carswell, Sec. of
State, spoke on the two great needs
of Georgia. The main feature of the
program was the address by Victor
Davidson on The Story of the
Massacre of the Uchees. Miss
Roberta Anderson read her prize
winning essay, "Old Glory’s Great
est Glory’’. She was presented a
medal from the chapter by Mrs J.
W. Hooks. Miss Maye Lamb sang
“My Bouquet of Memories” Mrs J.
W. Hooks read Mrs J. N. Talley’s
poem, The Flag; at this time she al
so introduced Prof, A. C. Frazer of
Hazlehurst, who spoke on our great
est Assets, The Boys and Girls. The

Salute to the Flag was given and
America was sung by the audience.
The program was in charge of Mrs
A, C. Todd. Miss Addiegene Cason
and Mr Fullmef Armstrong had
charge of the refreshments to which
the guests were invited, a delicious
barbecue.
After the historic memories of the
spot were reviewed and the true spir
it of cooperation was cemented among
the members of the different organiz
ations participating.

Union Auxiliary to the Ebenezer
Association, held its quarterly meet
ing in Irwinton on Wednesday June
the 19th. at 10:30 A. M. with Miss
Hennilu “Hughes, Superintendent,
presiding- The meeting opened with
the song "The Kingdom is Coming ’
and praver by Mrs. N. H. Bacon-
Miss Maye Lamb of Danville, a
student at the Baptist Young
Woman’s Training School at Louis
ville, gave the devotional based on
the watchword of the Association for
this year "Holding forth the word of
life”. Phil. 2:16.

Mrs. Victor Davidson welcomed
the guests to Irwinton.
Miss Alice Wimberly gave a vocal
solo "I see my Savior”, after which
reports were given on the State
Convention at Forsyth by Mrs, R. B,
Norns, Miss Lois Gettys, Mrs. Edgar
Maxwell, Miss Alice Wimberly, Mrs.
James Whitehurst and Miss Floried
Smith.
The reports of the Executive
Board were given. The banner
awarded to the District doing the
most outstanding work during the
past year was won by the Jefferson
ville district. The young people’s
banner was won by the Danville
church. The Rev. Sam Wingfield
gave a talk on Stewardship, after
which the morning session closed with
the hymn “Jesus calls us” and
prayer by Rev. J. L. Pittman.
The Association was entertained at
luncheon by the Woman’s Missionary
Society of the Irwinton church.
The afternoon session, presided
over by Mrs. James Whitehurst,
young peoples leader, opened with
the hymn "O Zion haste’’ and
praver by little Katie Frances White
burst of the Jeffersonville Sunbeam
band. The devotional was given by
Miss Hennilu Hughes. Superintendent
