IRWINTON, WILKINSON COUNTY, GA.,
FRIDAY, MAY 2, 1930
Dannenberg Won
Irwinton got together a few players
last Thursday afternoon and tried to
interest Dannenberg. They did
make it lively for the visitors after the
first inning or two, but that was after
they had got a long lead on the home
team. The score was ten to three in
favor of the city hoys, but tliey made
no whoopee over their victory, for
they missed from oar team the
familiar faces of James and Joe Boone.
Buck Dixon, Byington Lindsey, and
Walker the pitcher who threw the
bills over the plate and past 'their
bats last summer. We will give
them a real game when the college
boys are at home again.

MRS. H. B. ADKINS
Number 24
One was reminded of “Sweethearts
on Parade’’ as niue hiking couples
left the “Street of Irwinton’’ at 4:30
p. m, led by the Marathon hikers,
Miss Buena Hatfield and Mr Rollie
Bell, with Miss Mildred Smith and
Mr Felix Billue Bringing up the rear.
Laughter, frolic and fun and an
occasional trip to the house for forgot,
ten necessities was the order of the
afternoon until beneath the maple
trees and just above “where the cool
spring bubbles up”, the table was
spread, with delicious- sandwiches,
cakes and ice cold lemonade.
With hearts still cheerful but foot
steps lagging they began their march
homeward.
Irwinton seemed further,
The hills steeper,
The way rougher,
The gullies deeper
On returning.
