A Question ?
To the Public at Large
With business methods changing and
very little attention paid to keeping
credits in good standing, there is only
one thing that can happen to all of us,
and that is Credit will be Cut Out
Completely.
The merchant in days gone by got from 30 to
120 days credit--
Now he gets from ‘’Cash on Delivery” to 30 days,
the longest, or an average of 15 days credit.
So, it boils down to this: Anyone slack with his obliga
tion will find hard sailing in the future.
So if any good mathematician can figure out How a
merchant can carry accounts from year to year and not
one willing to pay even the interest for the accommo
dation ? ?

The next session of the association
will convene with the Gordon Bap
tist church on Wednesday and Thunrs
day following the third Sunday in
October, Sumptuous picnic dinners
were served both days by the hostess
church.

A small boy in the west ate a fuz
zy worm, and the reporter thought it
was hunger that caused the unusual
feast. My guess is that the young
fellow had heard someone repeat the
familiar saying that in order to be
come a social leader one must eat a
fuzzy worm.
Miss Eunice Sanders has returned
from Gordon where she was guest of
Miss Annie Lou Camp.
A real, liye ghost came right thru
the keyhole into our house Saturday
night and scared us out of our books
and magazines. We had to do some
quick thinking, but got out all right
by trading the ghost a big, mellow,
juicy pear not to drag us away to his
spookerv. After the pear was eaten
he took off his ghost mask, and it
was only Hubert Lindsey.
Seats on the southern steps of the
court house, or on the sunny side of
the little Delco house are all taken
now, for Pennyrow people have come
out of the shade.
What you thought was static dur
ing the recent cool evenings was only
Sentell Chamber’s teeth chattering at
his mountain school, and the other
strange noise was Cecile Davis down
in Florida laughing at him.
The Hallowe’en entertainment at
the school house last Friday evening
was enjoved by the children and
grown folks.
School Books Remind Us
Os long ago happy days, and the.n we

We have the school supplies ready.

THAD W. PLAYER
Number 50
To Georgia Taxpayers
An interested delegation in the
closing days of the 1929 Legitlature
railroaded through a Constitutional
Amendment, to be voted on Nov. 4,
granting power to the Fulton County
Commissioners to levy taxes to pro
vide funds for paying pensions to of
ficers and employes of Fulton county,
The amendment is the entering
wedge to a state wide effort to saddle
a burden of pensions on every county
in the state, and should be defeated
now.
The defeat of the power proposed
for Fultou county will mean elimina
tion of the same power in future for
all other countias.
J, P. McGrath, Chairman.
Duck Hunting
Duck hunting is now a great
sport among Georgians and their
visitors. The open season starts
November Ist. The State Depmnt.
of Game and Fish calls attention to
the fact that, because of the increasing
scarcity of migratory duck, the federal
law has changed the bag limit to not
more than 15 in any one day’s kill.
It should be borne in mind that the
federal law also prohibits shooting
summer or wood ducks at any time.
