    ABOUT PRICES^
Up-to-date equipment and modern methods do not necessarily
mean high prices. On the contrary, the progressive mortician is
usually able to do things more efficiently than his old-fashioned
competitor, and this saving covers the cost of better equipment.
We are in a position to give our clients a service within the reach
of their resources.

! STREET OF IRWINTON;
A friend may change one dull
moment
Into a flower of memory
Forever blooming in the mind,
The theme of endless revery.
Miss Bessie Taylor of Macon was
in the city Saturday. Her many
friends in the old home town are al
ways glad to see her, and she says
she enjoys seeing them every week
as they pass along Bulletin Street.
Mr Waver Goodman of Mercer, was
Sunday guest of Mr Howard Hughes.
Mr and Mrs Herbert Stephens were
in the city Monday afternoon.
O D. Holliman talked almost a
minute with friends on the street
Tuesday. It seems to me he would
make a mighty poor loafer.
W. L, Dixon. Floyd Taylor, Walter
Adkins, Nat Bacon, Buddy Hatfield,
Robert Price testing their nerve and
marksmanship in a new game. The
victim stands against a wall and the
firing squad, one at a rime, throws a
ball at Him. He is allowed to dodge.
When he is hit another takes his
place. Thoy are surprisingly hard to
hit, and mostly are struck on the
head or foot.
S. R. Owen, of Gordon appeared
on the street Tuesday.
Cosby Brooks was in the city Tues
day morning,
Walter Adkins trying to alienate
the affections of Charlie Elliott’s dog,
%ut Ring rings true to the smaller
playmate.
Mrs Francis Grinstead and Miss
Lucile Walton ride along the street
Tuesday afternoon.
Calhoun Todd of G M. C., came
over to soe Irwinton chums Sunday.
Pretty good turnip rain Tuesday
night, but Otho Bell says it was not
enough to wet the air sufficiently to
loosen the dust in nostrils of hjs hogs.
Two negro boys transporting a pair
of pig-sized pigs along the street in
their arms, and when they come near
Haywood’s market both little wieners
let off a squeal in concerto pigolo, or
two minds with a terrifying thought,
two pigs that squeal as one.
President Hoover says it is costing
too much to operate the government,
states, and counties, and now since
that baffling mystery is solved, the
brains of the country might be busied
thinking out and applying a remedy.
