To the Editor of The Bulletin:
Under the titleJ“About Coun
ty Affairs,” by Victor Davidson,
there appears in last week’s is
sue of your paper the following
article:
‘‘Free speech seems to be denied
in Wilkinson county and a man must
not run for office against any member
of the chosen few. If he happens to
hold a county office and occupies of
fice space in the courthouse he must
not criticise any official acts or sug
gest any reforms or reduction of ex
penditures and taxes. If he offend in
these particulars he will be denied
office space, even though one particu
lar room wa-t built for that office and
office space has been provided for
that office ever since the creation of
that office, and even though there are
vacant rooms in the court house.”
This article is misleading, un
certain, ambigious and. as many
other of his articles published
recently, untrue.
In order that the people of the
county may know the truth and
A Question ?
To the Public at Large
With business methods changing and
very little attention paid to keening

Now he gets from ‘'Cash on Delivery” to 30 days,

So if any good mathematician can figure out How a
merchant can carry accounts from year to year and not
one willing to pay even the interest for the accommo
dation ? ?

be avdised fully of what he is
writing about, I deem it my du

Commissioners of Roads and
Revenues to reply to such a mis
leading statement and deceitful
propaganda.
The above quoted article was
published by Mr Davidson be
cause the Board of Commission
ers of Roads and Revenues serv
ed him with a written notice to
vacate the Grand Jury room and
the roonf opposite thereto, which
he has been occupying since the
summer of 1925, without any le
gal authority. Upon receipt of
the notice Mr Davidson moved
his private office out of the grand
jury room. As stated above he
has been using this room since
1925, burning the county’s coal,
using its lights and having the
janitor to wait on him He has
used this room for 5 winters, and
it is a fair estimate to say that
he used two tons of coal each
winter. Coal delivered at Irwin
ton costs the county SIO.OO per
ton. 11 he used two tons of the
