Rural Carrier Examination
The United Stat’s Civil Service Com
mission has announced announced an
examination to fill the position of rural
carrier at Irwinton, Ga. The examin
ation will be held at Macon, Ga. Re
ceipt of applications will close on June
26 1931.
The date of examination will be stat
ed on admission cards mailed to appli
cants after the close of receipt of ap
<plications,and will be about 15 15 days
after date. The examination will only
be open only to citizens who are actu
ary domiciled in the territory of the
p >st office where the vacancy exists,
who have actually been domiciled
there for six months next preceding
the closing date for receipt of applica
tions, and who meet the other require
ments set forth in Form 1977. Both
men and women, if qua'ified, may en
ter this examination, but appointing
officers have the legal right to specify
the sex .desired in request'ng certifica
cation ■ f eligibles. Foom 1977 and ap

day aternoon.
Guy Stewart has been suffring from
an infected hand caused by a catfish
fin. His many friends are glad to
know lhat his condition is improving.
Mr and Mrs George T. Stapleton and
children desire to ehank their friends
for many’ kind, neighborly attentions
during his r cent s rious illness. One
and all are gratefully remembered. Mr
Stapleton is much improved in health.

Irwinton won from Deepstep at Ir
winton Tuesday in a long but interest
ing game, score 16 to 15, Lindsey pitch
ed for the home team. The playing
was neck and neck all the way and
was won in the last inning.
Irwinton won from Jeffersonville on
their ground last Friday in al2to 6
game, Sapp pitching for the winners.
Leonard is doin’ good work this sea
son, as are all the boys ane Manager
Horace Lindsey hasn't such a hard job
leading them to victory.
Mrs L. P. Legg, Jr., of Rebecca, is
spending several weeks with her sister
