The John Ball chapter, Daughters ।
of the American Revolution, held an ;
interesting meeting Friday afternoon
at the Gordon hotel with Mrs. W. A.
Jones as hostess and Mrs. John F. -
Porter. Jr, of Danville, vice re- ,
gent presiding, ;
The regent read a report of the
work of the past year, which will be
presented at the state conference to be ,
held in Waycross the last of this
month. Mrs A, W. Daughtry was
appointed the regent’s alterna'e and
Mrs. J. F. Porter was chosen to ,
represent the chapter at the
conference
As the annual meeting of the ,
chapter will take place in April, the .
following were named on the ,
nominating committee: Miss Julia
Todd. Mrs. W. A. Jones.. Mrs A. W.
Daughtry and Mrs. A C- Todd.

that each month an address will
be made before the ehapter by some
interesting speaker.
Mrs. J. W. Hooks, reported the
unveiling exercises of the marker on
the grave of Richard Whitaker, a
soldier of the War of 1812, which
recently took place in the old
Friendship church yard.
The program for the afternoon
emphasized the study of Georgia,
by Mrs L, P. Player and Mrs. Victor
Davidson, Mrs W. L, Kingman, of
Matuchen, N. J., was introduced and
made an interesting talk on the work
being done by her chapter.
A delicious salad course with hot
coffee was served by the hostess
assisted by Mrs I D. Brisendine
and Mrs. Ellis.
