In Memoriam
On Aug. 31, 1932 the death angel
visited the home of Mr H. B. Dominy
and took away his beloved wife, Gus
sie Jeanette Hughes.
She was 60 years old; born and rais
ed in this county and lived here all
her life. It was hard to give her up
but our loss is her eternal gain.
She was loved by all who knew
her. We can not see her smiling
face but we can remember her by her
kind words. She always worked
hard but now all her work on earth is
done; she has paid the debt we all
must pay.
God is a gracious God and His
will power was beyond our under
standing. He manifested His will by
taking away our dear mother.
She was a member of the Big Sandv
Baptist church, joining in her eatly
days
Beautiful indeed were her last
words to her children around tier bed
side, to live a better life and do good-
Therefore we sorrow not in the Sa
vior’s love.
We shall miss her but we bow in
humble submission to the will of our
Heavenly Father Who doeth all
things well.
Those who mourn we commend to
them the God of Comfort Who has
has said, My grace is sufficient for
thee.
She was only sick a short while she
suffered a stroke of paralysis. We
all loved her but God loved her best
and took her hotre where there is no
suffering, death or parting. There’s
where we hope to meet her some
sweet day around the great white
throne.
She leaves husband and 7 children,
26 grand children. Children are:
W. H, Dominy of Cochran, H. H. &
A. B. of Irwinton, Mrs W. H. How
ell, Danville, Mrs J. E. Spears, Ir
winton, Mrs W. C. Stinson and Miss
Nina Dominy of Toomsboro, a sister,
Mrs W. H- Dixon, Wadley, brothers
Raymond Hus-hes, Dublin, and I. S.
Hughes, Adrian, besides a host of
relatives and friends to mourn her
passing.
Funeral services were in charge of
Rev. J. C. Daniel and Rev. J- E.
Townsend.
A special song was sung by Mrs
Lucy McArthur, ' Give me the Roses
now.”
The pall bearers were B. H., Otis
and Steve Dominy, W. H. Howell,
J, E. Spears and Jim Christian. The
body was laid to rest in Big Sandy
church cemetery. We miss her but
hope to meet her again in the sweet
bye and bye,
Dearest mother, thou hast left us,
Here thy loss we deeply feel.
But ’tis God that hath before us
He can all our sorrows heal.
Yet again we hope to greet thee
When then the days of life are fled,
Then in heaven with joy to greet thee
Where no farewell tears are shed
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe from corroding care,
Safe from the world's temptations,
Sin cannot harm her there.
