meet a serious emergency by saving
the better grades of soybeans, cow
peas. and other crops for use where
there is a hay shortage. An unpre

Thousands of tons will have to be
shipped into the ureas which have
suffered from a lack of rainfall this
vear, some of them which usually
produce surplus hay. The South
usually ships in a lot of hay for con
sumption here. But not this year.
Any surplus will be needed where it
is produced Bermuda, crab grass,
aything of the sort should be saved.
A great deal of forage may be se
cured by cutting corn and feeding as
stover or in the stalk. This can be
done without injury to the ears by
waiting until the ghucks turn brown,
and it will urovide feed which can be
used throughout the winter months.
Conversion into stover is preferable,
