TAX LEVY
In the Office of Commissioners of
Roads and Revenues of Wilkinson
County. Georgia, September 17, 1934.
Whereas, it appearing to the
Board of Commissioners of Roads
and Revenues of Wj]kinson County
that the expenses of operating said
county and making improvements
therein require a levy of ten mills on
the dollar or ten dollars per thous
and on each one thousand dollars of
the taxable property in said county
for the year 1934; it is therefore:
Ordered: That 19 mills on the
dollar or ten dollars on the thousand
of taxable property in the county of
Wijkinson as per digest of said coun
ty for the year 1934, be and the same
is hereby levied for county purposes;
and the tax collector of said county is
hereby authorized to collect the same
for the following purposes, to wit:
Item 1. To pay the legal indebt
edness of the county, due or to become
due during the year or past due, the
sum of 5 cents on the one hundred
dollars.
Item 2. To pay for the building
and repairing the courthouse, jails,
bridges, ferries, and other improve
ments, the sum of 30 7 8 cents on the
hundred dollars.
Item 3. To pay sheriffs, jailers
and other officers that may be legally
entitled to out of the county 5 cents
on the one hundred dollars.
Item 4. To pay coroner’s fees
that may be due them by the county
for holding inquests 1-8 cents on the
one hundred dollars.
Item 5. To pay the expenses of the
county for bailiffs at court, non-resi
dent witnesses in criminal cases, sen
vants hire, fuel, stationery and the
the like. 2 cents on the one hundred
dollars.
Item 6. To pay the legal expenses
of supporting the poor of the county
as provided by law, 10 cents ou the
hundred dollars.
Item 7. To pay jurors a per diem
compensation 3 cents on the one
hundred dollars.
Item 8. To pay for working,
maintaining and repairing the public
roads of said county 40 cents on the
one hundred dollars.
Item 9. To pay any other lawful
charge against the county 4 cents on
the one hundred dollars.
V> hereas the Board of Education
of said county having recommended
to the Board that a levy of five mills
on the dollars of the taxable property
in the county of Wilkinson for school
nurposes and for the use of the pub
lic schools of the county for the year
1934 he made, it is
Ordered; That five mills on the
dollar of each one dollars worth of
the taxable property in the county be
and the same is hereby levied for the
vear 1934 for school* purposes for the
public schools of the county, and
Whereas the board of trustees of
Gordon school district of said county
having recommended to the board a
lew of four mills on the dollar of the
taxable propertv in said school dis
trict be levied for the maintenance of
said school and G mills on the dollar
for retiring bonds and paying interest
thereon for the year 1934, it is there
fore
Ordered that 4 mills on the dollar
of each one dollars worth of the tax
able property in said school district
be and the same is hereby levied for
maintenance of said school and 9
mills on the dollar for retiring bonds
and paving interest thereon for the
year 1934, and
Whereas the trustees of Tooms
boro school district having recom
mended to the board that a levy of 5
mills on ’he dollar of each one dol
lar’s worth of taxable property in
Toomsboro school district be made for
retiring bonds and paying interest
thereon, and 5 mills for maintenance
of said schools in said district for the
year 1934, it is
Ordered: That 5 mills on the dol
lar of each one dollar’s worth of the
taxable property in Toomsboro school
district be and the same is hereby
levied for the purpose of retiring
t|ie bonds and paying interest there
on for said school district, and 5 mills
be levied for maintenance and sup
port of said schools in said district for
the year 1934, and
Whereas the board of trustees of
Mt. Carmel school district having
recommended to the board that a
levy of 2 mills on the dollar of each
one dollar’s worth of taxable property
in said school distiict be levied for
the maintenance and support of said
schools in said district for the year
1934, it is therefore
Ordered that 2 mills on the dollar
of each one dollar's worth of the tax
able property in Mt. Carmel’s school
district be and the same is hereby
levied for the maintenace and support
of said school in said school district
for the year 1934, and
Whereas the board of trustees of
Irwinton school district having recom
mended to the board that a levy of 7
mills on the dollar of each one dol-
lar's worth of taxable property in said
school district be levied for retiring
bonds and paying interest thereon for
the year 1934, it iS therefore
Ordered, that 7 mills on the dollar
of each one dollar's worth of taxable
property in said Irwinton school dis
trict be and the same is hereby levied
for retiring bonds and paying interest
thereon for the year 1934, and
Whereas the board of trustees of
Mclntyre school district having re
commended to the board that a levy
of 5 mills on the dollar of each one
dollar’s worth of taxable property in
the Mclntyre school district be made
for the purpose of reti r ing the bonds
and paying the interes thereon for the
year 1934, it. is therefore
Ordered that mills be and the
same is hereby levied on the dollar of
each one dollar’s worth of the taxable
property in said school district for the
purpose of retiring bonds and paying
interest thereon for the vear 1934.

Adjustment Program
Increases Farm Incomes
More than 350 million dollars has
been added to farm income in the
United States in rental and benefit
payments on cotton, tobacco, corn,
wheat and hogs adjustment programs
in the l«st year and a half. About
300 n. ill ion more will be paid out be
tween now and the end of the year.
Also, farm income has increased by
more than I^o million dollars si>ent
in buying hogs, butter, cheese, and
cattle, and in the export operations
for wheat. The program of 'buying
sheep and cattle expected to double
this figure this year.
Value of products raised and bene
fit payments will put cash incoome
of farmers at about six billion dollars
this year, as compared with 5 bill’on
las. year, 4 1-3 billion in 1932.
