Protracted Meeting
at Methodic Church
The protraced meeting begins at
the Irwinton Methodist church the
Fifth Sunday in June.
We are to have with us Rev. Geo.
F. Erwin, of Macon, Bro. Erwin
served in the mission field for several
years and is a man of sterling worth
in revival services.
I urge upon the membership to be
very much in prayer that we may
have a great revival of religion.
We stand in need of a great re
freshing of God's spirit and if the
meeting is to mean anything to you,
there is a part that you must play.
W e extend a cordial invitation to
one and all to attend these services.
The plan is for the meeting to run
ten davs, having night services only
for the first week and services twice
diily the the second week.
I trust that all singers will cooper
ate in singing and feel at home in the
choir.

Balls Ferry Bridge
The struggle for and against the
Balls Ferry bridge still goes on and
citizens of the neighboring counties
sit in their trucks and cars waiting,
confident that Vinson will get the
bridge for them.
4-H Club Content
A national contest in 4 H food
preparation Will be condncted
for the 300,000 club members
enrolled this year.
County, state and sectional
prizes and a grand national prize
are offered.
The presentations will be a
feature of appropriate 4 H club
events at the end ot the project
year.
Salem Church
All members are urged to meet at
Salem church Thursday after First
Sunday in July to clean off church

4th July Basket Dinner
Wilkinson County residents are
invited to join in the bivgest basket
dinner ever held when Cherokee
county will dedicate its new Etowah
River Bridge on July 4th with Gov
ernor Talmadge as principal speaker.

Baptist Revival
at Toomsboro
Beginning Sunday morning at
11:00 o’clock, a week of revival
services will be held at the
Toomsboro Baptist church.
Rev. E. E. Keen, pastor at
Union Point, will have charge of
the song service
Everybody cordially invited to
attedd these services. Through
the week services will be held at
10 o’clock, in the morning and
8:30 at nights.

Miss Christine Bender and Mr
Tommie Drew Davidson were married
in Atlanta on Friday, May 31.
Tax Equalizers to Meet
The board of Tax Equalizers, Mr
E. O. Smith, Mr L. T. Manderson,
Mr Sam Adams, will meet in Irwin
ton June 1?, 18, 19 for those who de
sire arbitration, etc.
Overton-Maxwell
Os wide social interest is the an
nouncement made of the approaching
marriage of Miss Mamie Delle Over
ton to John T. Maxwell, of Danville,
which will be a quiet event taking
place the latter part of June, with
the Rev, R L. Robinson, of Brew
ton Parker Institute, Mount Vernon,
officiating.
Injured in Auto Crash
M. C. Kitchens, Irwinton young
man, was held by police for investiga
tion on an open charge yesterday af
ter he had driven a U-Drive-It auto
mobile into the rear end of another
car on Fifth street bridge. Kitchens
suffered a slight laceration on the
chin when his machine rammed a
model T Ford driven by G. C. Bate
man Mrs Bateman suffered bruises
on her head and was taken to her
home for treatment. Kitchens was
not hurt badly enough to warrant
treatment.

District Headquarters at Macon
has received authority to accept 30
outstanding applicants in June, be
tween 18 and 25 years of age and not
less than 5 feet 6 inches in height.
