Notice of Bond Election ,
To thequattfietbyoters of the City
of Gordon. Georgia: j
Whereas the City of Gordon, is in
need of a system of waterworks, and
Whereas the Federal Government
is offering to give 45% of the costs
of installing such a system, providing
the|municipality will furnish the re
mainder. and
Whereas to do so will necessitate
the issuance of bonds in the sum of
twenty thousand, five hundred dollars:
Be it resolved, that we, the Board
os Counc l ! of the City of Gordon, sub
mit to the legal, qualified voters of
said municipality the question for
them to determine whether or not
bonds shall be issued by the Board of
Council in the sum of twenty thous
and, five hundred dollars aggregate
principal, to bear date from January
1, 1936, and to be of the following
denominations:
Forty one five hundred dollar bonds
to bear interest from their date at the
rate of four per cent per annum pay
able semi annually on the First day
of January and on the First day of
July of each year, Five hundred dol
lars of the principal to be p4d on the
Ist day of January 1938; One thous
and dollars of the principal to be paid
on the Ist day of January 1939, and
for the next nineteen years following,
ending on the Ist day of January,
195 g. when all of said bonds shall be
fully paid. Both principal and in
terest of said bonds to be paid in law
ful currency of the United States of
America and payable at the Citizens
and Southern National Bank of Ma
con, Georgia.
Further, that said election be held
at the usual place of holding election
in the said City of Gordon on the Bth
day of November, 1935. Those de
siring to vote in favor of the issu
ance of said bonds shall cast ballots
having written or printed on them
“For Bonds”. Those opposed to
the issuance of said bonds shall cast
ballots having written or printed on
them “Against Bonds’'.

Because of default in the nayment of
loan secured by deed to secure debt
executed by L E. Thompson to Mrs
0. T. Lord, dated the 23rd day of
June, 1927, and recorded in the
Clerk’s office of the Superior court of
Wilkinson county. Georgia, in book
number 42 nage 458. the undersigned
acting under the power of sale con
tained in said deed for the purpose of
paying said indebtedness will, on the
first Tuesday in November, to-wit: on
the sth of November 1935. during the
legal hours of sale, in front of the
courthouse in Irwinton, said county,
sell at public outcry to the highest
bidder for cash, the said land describ
ed, towit:
That certain parcel of land, in said
county, containing Six hundred, fifty
five (655) acres, more or less, for
merly bounded North by lands of H
D Freeman; east by AG Bailey; on
south by James T Wright; west by A
G Bailey; James T Bailey and the
Knewles place, embracin' 1 laud lots
Nos. 336, 337, and 150 acres, more
or less, of lot No. 335, all within the
3rd Land District of said county, to
gether with 100 acres, more or less,

as Hutto Wynn place, ind the 2nd
land district of said county.
Also 462 acres, more or less, in the
3rd district of said county, embracing
land lots Nos. 338 and 364, together
with 160 acres, more or less, of land
lot No. unknown, but part of the
Knowles place in the 2nd land district
of said county, said tract being bound
ed by lands formerly owned as fol-
lows: North by A G Bailey and D B I
F Miller; east by Oconee river ;south ;
Hutto place and A G Bailey; on west 1
Winifred Bailey old place.
Also tract containing 9y ocres of land
lot No. 364 of the 3rd land district,
said county, formerly bounded by
lands owned as follows: North by the
Dodge Lumber Co; east Oconee river;
south and west W H Freeman, once
known as the Avery place. Also, in
the 2nd Land district, said county,
450 acres, more or less, of what was
known as the ‘‘Upper Brinson’’ tract,
being Land lots Nos. 331. 332, 336.
Said lands will be sold as the prop
erty of the estate of L. E. Thompson,
the undersigned will execute the deed
to purchaser as authorized by the
aforementioned deed.

Irwinton, Wilkinson county. Georgia,
during the legal hours of sale on the
Ist Tuesday in Noyember, 1935, the
following described tracts or parcels ol
land In said county, to wit:
59 acres of land bounded on north
by J H Howell, east by old Dublin
and Irwinton road, on south by other
lands of Mrs L u °y McArthur, west by
Mrs C O Butler. Said land levied
on and to be sold as property of Mrs
Lucy McArthur to satisfy an execu
tion for state and county tax for year

of the D F B Miller place bounded

lands levied on and to be sold as the
property os heirs of L E Thompson

of Mrs Louise Whitehurst, agent for
the H J Ivey estate to satisfy an ex
ecution for state and county tax for
year 1934 against said estate.
