ing to said estate:
One lot of land located in city of
Gordon, said county, on Main street,
bounded as follows: Beginning at the
intersection of the J. H. Bloodworth
& Co. lot and running South 36 feet
to the corner of T. O. Fields lot;
then turning west along said lot a
distance of 156 ft. to the intersection
of Eli Fraseur lot, then turning north
along said lot 36 feet to the lot owned
by T- E Bloodworth, thence turning
along said lot 1&6 feet to the starling
point. Notice is hereby given to all
parties concerned io show cause, if
any they have, at office of Ordinary,
why said application for order for
leaye to sell said real estate should
not be granted on first Monday in

The Indian Chief influenced part
of the flood waters to wash away the
dam at Solicitor C. S Baldwin’s pond
Thursday. This is getting to be a
discouraging habit.

The April term Superior Court is
still in session this, Friday, morning
with Judge James B. Park presiding
and C, S. Baldwin Solicitor. W. A.
Jones is foreman of Grand Jury, with
F. I). Branan clerk Bailiffs are H.
E, McDowell, J. T. Sanders, B B.
As^eH. J. V. Allen. J. W. Vinson,
R. E. Davidson, with E 11. Lewis as
special bailiff for grand jury.
Miss Ida Hughs
Funeral services for Miss Ida
Hughes will be held at the Union
church in Irwinton this afternoon
at three o’clock, the services to be
conducted by Rev. Geo. L. Griffin.
Miss Hughs’ death occurred Thurs
day resulting from a heart attack. She
was one of Irwinton’s oldest citizens,
and was sister of Mrs H. D. Hughes,
of Toomsboro, who survives her. She
has many relatives and friends in the
county.
A social security program will be
discussed at the annual Georgia Con
ference on Social work in Atlanta on
April 14-17.

Planer to Operate Again
Danville. G. W. Baker of Wills
ton, Fla. has bought the equipment of
the F. C. Taylor Planing Mill which
has been closed for several years.
The nlant is being remodeled. Mr
Baker will also operate several saw
mills and a dry Riln.
Spanish Onion, Gordon
Gordon High School Junior Class
will present a three-act comedy. The
Spanish Onion, at Gordon school au
ditorium this, Friday, evening. The
play is coached by Miss Rebecca
Fowler. The cast: Misses Sara
Moore, Catharine Miller, Fleta Mc-
Daniel, Sue Harden, Virginia Stokes.
Marjorie Hill; Messrs Jack Parker,
Julian Smith, Lee Pittman, Roel
Fowler, Hilliard Dennard, and Roscoe
Padgett. Proceeds to be used bv
class for junior-senior prom.

Mrs Anna Thompson and Miss
Dorothy Billue have returned from a
trip through Florida. Among the
places yisited were Titusville, S'lver
Springs, Fort Pierce. They also
stopped in Valdosta and Cordele on
their way home.
Tommie Drew Davidson was on
The Street awhile this week and his
friends all glad to see him. He is
taking a business course in Atlanta.
The P. T. A. dinners were served
upstairs in the Johnson building —
• the patronage was very liberal and
greatly appreciated.
Lightning cracked our ear drums in
this neighborhood Thursday night,but
no worse damage was reported this
morning.
Rural carriers I. F. Billue and
James Adkins are doing a lot of ex
tra traveling on account of rains.
The rainfall this month is said to
have set a new record for April.
E. B. Burgamy is still kept at home
by mumps.
