She won the large sum of money by naming the little garl lying on a mattress in one of the company’s national advertise ments. Total prizes in the contest amounted to $25,000. Mrs. Pierce was presented the check by Mr. George Garrity, Manager of Davison’s in Colum bus, on behalf of the Englander Mattress Company. The award was made in the de partment store office, in front of news and television cameras. Mr. Paul Welch, Southeastern Commission of Atlanta believes that the area will hit one million not later than 1961.
