Dedicates
Field
It is with a great deal of
gratification that I am here
this morning to make this
dedication. Gordon Camp
bell was the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lindsey Campbell. He
was married to the former
Charlene Bruce. He played
baseball in this same little
league organization here in
Forest Park. He was grad
uated from Forest Park High
School where he excelled as
a student and athlete. Gor
don is remembered as one
who could always be counted
on to shoulder his share of
responsibilities. I would like
to think that athletics had
some small part to play in
the formation of the tre
mendous character of this
young man. Gordon is re
membered as never shirking
from his duty and responsi
bilities. He played by the
rules without complaint. I
can remember Gordon as
one in whom complete trust
and dependability could be
placed. When our country
beckoned for the services of
Gordon, he accepted this
call — as befitting his char
acter — without hesitation.
In far off Viet-Nam Gordon
died a heroes death — hav
ing since been awarded the
bronze star and purple
heart.
I would like for all the
young men who are now
tracing along in the very
same footsteps of Gordon
Campbell to remember the
field upon which you play—
j this is the molding of better
citizens. Gordon learned this
well as we hope you do.
In dedicating this field—
the Gordon Campbell Field
let us hope that it always
stands as a reminder to us
for the high ideals for which
he stood — to live life a lit
tle better, to play the rules
of the game as they should
be played and when called
: upon to do a job — do that
| job the best you can.
Thank you,
Albert L. (Pat)

THE FBI is always worth
viewing and we found “The
Mercenary” of April the 28th
unusually interesting. Fritz
Weaver as the Communist Spy
was very good in that role and
Efrem Zimbalist and the other
regulars were most convincing.
THE MUCH TOUTED "H.
Andrew Williams Special’’ was
a disappointment to us. For
those with color sets the be
ginning of the hour was beauti
ful with its trick photography
and beautiful patterns of color
but most of the musical was
decidedly not our cup of tea.
We can take just so much
musical frenzy and for that
