Panthers Lose 4th
Region Game of Year
BY RODNEY HUDLOW
The Forest Park Panthers,
moving into the final week of
the season, played host to
Gordon at Baker Field. During
the season the Panthers have
been rather inconsistent in the
hitting department and this
day happened to be one of
their bad ones. Howard Alex
ander went to the mound
seeking his sixth win of the
year. Except for allowing two
home runs, Alexander pitched
well enough to win. But, as
mentioned before, the Panthers
had trouble at the plate and
they lost their fourth region
game of the year. 3-1.
On Friday, the Panthers
were to meet the Robert E.
Lee Rebels in the final game of
the year, but they lost this one
to the weather as rain forced
the game to be postponed.

Keep It Beautiful
If America hired people for the job, it would take the
largest sort of army to keep our country free of litter.
But there's no need to hire anyone. It's a job we can
do for ourselves. All of us Every family that spreads a
picnic lunch. Every boatman who cruises the lakes and
waterways Every motorist who uses our roads and
highways
It is the pleasure of the U S Brewers Association
each year to give its fullest support to the Keep America
Beautiful Campaign Remember: Every Litter Bit Hurts.
This is our land Let’s treat it right.

intra-squad game on Wednes
day. The team of Jeff King,
Rocky Davis, Darnell Dodson,
Phil Rowan, Rodney Hudlow
and Jerry Cargile met the team
of Butch Bell. Mike Gladden.
Danny Daugherty, Gary Long.
Tommy Willis and Larry Prock.
Davis’ team won the game
68-59, as Rocky led the way
with 41 points. Gary Long and
Tommy Willis are two boys
who will be transferring from
Fountain, and they have
looked very impressive during
the two weeks. Only five boys
who were out for spring prac
tice, Butch Bell, Jeff King,
George Rice. Bobby Royes and
Gary Long, will be seniors next
year, so Forest Park should
have fine teams for the next
two years.

that we created this nation, not
to serve ourselves, but to serve
mankind.

On May 15, THE CITIZENS BANK OF CLAYTON COUNTY BECOMES
The Citizens & Southern Bank of Clayton County
We made the name change because the Citizens Bank of Clayton County has always
been affiliated with C&S. This affiliation makes it possible to offer many bank serv
ices which would not otherwise be available.
The name change will be helpful to you when you need banking assistance away
from Forest Park, and are in the vicinity of another C&S Bank. Your bank will con
tinue to be operated by the same folks who have served you since we opened and
your checks and other bank items are still perfectly usable.
On behalf of your Board of Directors and the Staff of the Bank, let me say how much
we appreciate your business and your support.

young age of 28.
Jones tells the story ot
St rib’s stunningly sudden
death caused by his turning to

car and failing to see in time
another car coming around on
the road ahead.
Strib’s toot was all but torn
off. hanging by a shred of
