Dull all about here. '
Some cool days and nights this week.
r l hose delicious strawberries.
2905, What is it?
Mr. Gailstraps new house is nearly
done.
Cotton is being worked, and is looking
well.
Onr correspondents have all fallen
asleep, it seems.
Oats would be the better of a little
rain. They are heading too low.
Do tell us what “2905" is ?
If you fail to read tho now advertise
ments this week it is your own fault.
How the little folks did enjoy the
exhibition Wednesday night!
The mumps have taken a fresh start
in Cleveland.
Mr. B. F. Baker was in town this
week; look out girls !
It is not exactly fair to see young
ladies kissing each other on the street.
Mr. Thomas M. Bell is home among
his friends, (of whom there are many),
for a season.
Col. Gorham Blake has gone to At¬
lanta, and it may be that he wili.go on
to New York.
Some of our farmers are over their
corn the first time, while others are not
yet done planting.
Wheat is heading out nicely in this
section and promises an early and boun¬
tiful harvest.
That pesky mouse that eats our paste
every night must bo killed, if we have
it to do.
Wo did not see Mr. W. F. S, in town
(?) last Wednesday, uutil in tho .after-'
noon.
The cardsplay ing crowd arouud Cleve¬
land seemed to get the “go" on Mr. G.
Tuesday night.
Some of our farmers complain of a
little rust on their wheat; but it is only
on highly manured spots, and wo do
not think it will amount to much.
Gin-sang will make a man go derang¬
ed equal to whisky. Bettor let it aloue
—we have representatives enough in
Miliedgeville already.
It has become a custom in this county
to jail men who refuse to work tho road
upon which they are consigned by the
Commissioners.
Mrs. Wm, Tippett, Owasco, N. 1".,
says:—I have worn an Improved Excbl
sior Kidney Pad about three weeks,
and have recieved great relief from it for
pain iu the back.— Lee Ado.
Col. Sylvester left hero this week for
a more Northern clime. He is favorably
impressed with our country, as is almost
every one who visits us. We hope soon
to see him back again.
When you can’t find any one else to
pay, or any other way to spend your
money, why, then come and pay the
printer. You have no idea how much
he would thank you, aud he might
tell the world what nice men you were.
Printers are a very appreciative kind
of creatures.
Preaching at the Methodist Church
next Sunday, by the pastor, Rev. Mr.
Askew, it being his regular appointment
at this place. As he has not nad a fair
showiog at this place Bince be has been
on the work, we hope everybody will go
out and hear him.
J. N. Bice, of Toledo, Ohio, says:—
My father, before weariug the “Only
Lung Pad," could not sleep nights on
account of his violent oughiug since
wearing it he has slept soundly, every
night .—Sec Adc.

There is nothing so good for cm ing:
disease as a natural remedy, which you
can get at Oakes & Henderson’s. It is ,
Allum and Iron Mass a mim.ral. It 1
~
will give you a good appetite, and le
new yonr blood, and thereby give you
health and vigor There is no use pay¬
ing five or ton dollars to a physician,
when you can bo cured by the uso of
this natural remedy for almost nothing.
Try it.
The rattling of dinner bells, school
bells, cow bells, clawshamtuers and
band-saws, has constituted most of the
noise around town this week.
Miss Dora Jackson has the mumps
so bad that her face is so swollen that
her eyes are almost closed.
The time has come when poms men
care no more for their obligations t'uau
they do for the dust uuder their feet.
“2905.’’—What can these cabalistic
figures—which appear so conspicuously
in another columu—mean? We would
be very glau to inform our readers if we
were not under bonds not to do so, so
they wid have to "let patience have its
perfect work’’ uotill the time comes to
have the mystery explained. But it’s
worth k novviug, so koep a --harp look¬
out for the solution.
The Sabbath school at the Cleveland
Methodist Church is iu a flourishing
condition. There is au avorago of 50
attendants, and every oue seems to be
intsrestod in the cause. This is a token
of better times, aud calculated to bring
about a better state of morality, to say
tho least.
PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS.
I have arranged tc bo in Cleveland on
Saturday,11th of June, for the purpose
of examining Teachers. Let those
who wish to be examined meet me at
10 o'clock, A. M. I also, have a small
amount, due the Teachers of 1S80,—
would be glad to settle with all whom
I may not see before, on that day.
