A few days ego, an Italian vender of

Tbe doctor requested his patient to va

tee dentist wished, and seizing a pair of
forceps hs took a firm bold ol an eyo tooth.
The monkey screamed, and wrapped legs
arms and tall about tbe doctor's left arm
in a death-like gtip, but the doctor did not
let go, and aftet a desperate struggle tbe

monkey tell back in adead faint, and after
placing bis prise in adrawsrof the cabinet
the doctor threw some water in the ani

The organ-grinder, eeeing the monkey

nickel, and accordingly jerked on the
string attached to it, calling, ‘Come a la,
come a la” His pet, however, sat for a
moment as if dazed, then seeming to resi

organ, be sprang upon tl, tbe blood run

It with surprise then, looking np to tbe
window, bowled:
"Carambst what e bell for pnll monk-

"Wbatin tbe denre did you send your
monkey np here for? He can't talk, and
I thought be wanted a tooth polled,” re
sponded tbe doctor.
"No! nol no! Csrambsl" shouted the
Italian, growing purple with excitement
and stamping the ground In rage.
"Look herel" shouted the doctor, "you
come up here and pay me fifty cents for
pulling that tooth, or I will have you ar

The organ-grinder for an instant looked
at the doctor’e threatening attitude In as
tonishment, then shouldered hit mnsie-

dark tbe same evening there waa a ring at
tbe doctor's door bell, and ncotflwniweriDg
