Mrs. Douglas Strickland was the hostess for the evening. De lores's guest was Mrs. W. M. Puckett, who gave the inter esting history and develop ment of The Hobby Show. This Is The Hobby Show's seventh year and we hope it will continue to be a success for many more years. , Refreshments were enjoyed by everyone and the meeting was concluded with the busi ness session. • • • Hairdressers Are Entertained At State Park Here The United .Hairdressers Affiliate members and thelr families were favored with a cook-out at the State Park on Tuesday evening. This was the Affiliate's Summer Out ing which Is observed each year. Host and hostess were: Mr. and Mrs. Randy Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Grady Parker. About fifteen families at tended. Reidsville Jaycettes Grateful For Bloodmobile Support Here The Reidsville Jaycettes sponsored the Red Cross Bloodmobile on Monday, Sep tember 16th, from 2-7 p. m. There were 39 donors and 11 rejections. The participation was fair, however, results could havt been much better if the citizens of Reidsville and surrounding communities would show more concern for the Red Cross Program. The support of every person is needed in order to keep the Program active. We urge you to be concerned. It would certainly be to your advan tage, and we need our Blood mobile Program now more than ever, especially with our fine new hospital. We would like to thank the Western Auto Store, Jarriel's Pharmacy, Collins Depart ment Store and The Tattnall Square for donating our fine door prizes and we congrat ulate the following winners: Aubrey Murray, John Stubbs, Byron Smith and James Spikes. We also thank the Methodist U.M.W. for furn ishing the delicious refresh ments and the M.Y.F. girls for their part in helping. We would especially like to thank those who donated blood and those who tried but for various reasons were re jected for if it were not for you the Red Cross Blood Pro gram would not exist. Tab Smith Elected Vice President Os Methodist Men Tab Smith, a member of the First United Methodist Men of Claxton, has been eltcted Vice President of the United Methodist Men for the South Georgia Conference. The election took place at a recent meeting held at Ep worth-by-the-Sea, St. Simons Island. The new Vice President has been active In many areas of local church life, is Treasurer of the Tattnall Camp Ground Board of Trustees, and Is es pecially active In lay speak ing. He has served for six years as District Director of Lay Speaking for the States boro District and is further Involved in evangelistic work across the state. In his new office, Mr. Smith will be responsible for assist ing In the planning and exe cution of programs for Meth odist men. Mt. Carmel And Manassas To Hold Joint Revival Joint revival services of Mt. Carmel and Manassas United Methodist Church will be held September 30 through Octo ber 4, at Manassas United Methodist Church. The visiting minister will be the Rev. Edward E. Cadle of Sherwood United Method ist Church In Columbus. There will be a covered dish supper on Friday, Oct. 4. Ev eryone is Invited to come and be with us. The services will begin at 7:30 each night. The supper will begin at 6:30. Donna W. Purcell Receives Degree University Os Ga. Donna W. Purcell, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen O. Williams of Glennville, re ceived her B. S. degree In Business Education In Aug ust from University of Geor gia. She was named on the Dean's List for summer quar ter with a grade of 4.00. Mrs. Purcell Is teaching In Claxton. REV. DICK WALDEN AND FAMILY New Pastor at Trinity Church of the Nazarene New Pastor At Trinity Church Os The Nazarene Rev. Dick Walden, a native of Hannibal, Missouri has been named the new pastor at Trinity Church of the Nazarene located three miles south of Bellville on High way 169. Rev. Walden graduated from Nazarene Bible College at Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he received a Bible certificate and an Associate Arts degree. His wife, Virginia, has studied plano and received a certificate In hymn playing and pedogogy. Rev. Walden's first pastorate was In Mountain View, Mo. He also ministered for three years In Harrison, Ark., and one year In Montgomery City, Mo. The Walden's have four children, Rachel, 12; Tim othy, 8; Raydeen, 6 and Mark 4. They come to Trinity Church of the Nazarene from Atmore, Ala. Davidson Died Saturday In Vets Hospital E. C. Davidson, 80, died last Saturday at the Veteran's Admnllstratlon Hospital In Birmingham, Ala., after a long Illness. He was a native of Wilcox County, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Glennville Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, B. C. Davidson, Jr., of Miami, Fla., and James T. Davidson of Birmingham; four grand children and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today at 3 p. m. at the Glenn ville Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev.
