Mr. Editor :—Allow me space
News this week to say a few words
regarding the present candidacy for
the office ot Senate in the 3rd., Sen¬
atorial District. October election is
the plkce to settle the question which
will be only an easy job. Mr. Lemuel
Johnson, is a man after my heart he is
a man that does not fear labor, he is the
man to fill the office of Seuate by all
means.—Yes give us Lemuel Johnson.
His local record, and there is no other
expected of him. is beyond reproach body.
and can not be tackled by any
He stands fairly and squarly on the
Democratic platform and is true to bis
party. He is not an aspirant no
never has been, for office, but has been
solicited by his many friends time ant,
again, and upon such solicitations he
suff ci*s his name used as a candidate;
and fhere will he shouts of joy at his
' Rdory on the last day.

The shipment alluded to above is a
part of this purchase, and the remain¬
der will come through on another
special train- This transaction will
give some idea ot the extensive busi¬
ness of the firm, and is an evidence of
of the facilities possessed by our whole
sale merchants for supplying the entire
section tributary to Savaunah. We
doubt if a larger shipment of flor r to
a single firm has ever been received in
a Southern city. It demonstrates
that our merchant friends from the
interior and Floilda can find no better
market than Savannah.— Sau. News.
