globe-encircling journey. The peo
ple there look upon him as a hero,
and regard it as a great privilege
to take their hats off to him when
ever they meet him on the street.
Perhaps the flattering attention he
is receiving mil have the effect of
repairing his mental machinery,
which, for a number of years, has
appeared to have a screw loose
somewhere.
Notwithstanding all his eccen
tricities, and his cranky notions,
Citizen Train is pretty shrewd sort
of a man. He has a vast amount
of energy, and in his best days
days was a power in the business
world. His name has been con
nected with many great enter
prises, and whatever may have
been his follies he has held on to
enough of bis wealth to be still
counted a rich man.
Having again had a taste of pop
ular applause, after years of com
parative quiet, it would not be sur
prising if he should engage in new
undertakings. He is already talk
ing about beating his owu round
the world record, and soon after
his arrival in Tacoma he declared
that he could take 500 people
around the world in forty-eight
days. The spectacle oE Citizen
Train at the head ofiSOO of Taco
ma’s leading citizens, on a flying
trip around the world, would be
an inspiring one indeed. All the
nations would be interested in it
and Citizen Train would get, as
much notoriety as he could desire.
It is probable that he has given
up forever the practice of sitting
in Madison square park, New
York, bare headed, feeding the
birds and telling stories to chil
dren. The ambition that once
possessed him has got possession
of him again, and if he does not
undertake another trip around the
world he may loom up as the build
er of Mr. Blaine’s inter-continent
al railway.

‘Can the world know a man has a

of it.”—Vanderbilt.
Nashville’s (Tenc.) curiosty is
aroused as to what becomes of the
pennies that are sent there. They
are not used in trade to any con
siderable extent, and it is sur

of them fall into the hands of su
perstitious people who toss them
over houses or cover them with

What an influence for good or
evil is exerted by the proper or
improper use of money. It seems
to be the first essential of modern
life. Sad indeed is the lot of that
man or that woman without money
and without friends. Especially
in cases of sickness is the need of
money felt most pressingly, and
yet even the rich with all of their
money fall into a state of poor
health and die, whereas if their
money was rightly expended and
the proper remedies applied they
might regain health and strength.
Z. A. Clark, Atlanta, Ga., says:
“I spent four hundred and eighty
dollars in gold to cure me of terri
ble blood poison that affected my
limbs and nose and body, with
running ulcers. 2 One month’s
treatment of B. B. B. healed the
ulcers, restored my appetite,
strengthened my kidneys and added
21 pounds to weight.”
Still, in spite of this and much
other testimony there are many
who refuse to try the remedy, seem-
prefer to pay large fees to phy
sicians, or visit distant springs in
vain hopes of recovery. The great
troth however, ever shines brightly
and that is, that no one who ever
gave B. B. B. (Botanic Blood
Balm) a trial ever found disap
pointment therein,
O. H. Rudolph, Talladega, Fla.,
writes: “I had blood disease for
six years, bat nothing lienefitted
me, although I paid two hundred
and fifty dollars for treatment. At
last I tried B. B. B. and found it a
quick and cheap blood purifier.
