—Though the departure of Rev.
B. E, Whittington from Perry
was without ceremony, his family
being on a visit to relatives at
Cordele, the good will of our peo
ple is none the less with him and
his wife and children. During
the year he was the faithful and
One of our Specialties
earnest pastor of Perry and Prov
idence Methodist churches, and
he earned by his devotion to dutyj
and genial companionship the
highest esteem of all the people
with whom he came in contact.
Our best wishes will be with, him
at his new home at Byron.

Wellons to Mr. John Vernon Wal

The ceremony was performed
at 1 p. m. at the home of Mrs. N.
B. Wellons, mother of the bride,
at the east end of Carroll street.
Rev. Albert S, Dix, pastor of the
Perry Baptist church, performed
the ceremony in his usual solemn,
though happy style.
The attendants were:
Mr. H. T. Philips, of Atlanta,
and Miss Marilu Welloqs, sister
of the bride.
Mr. Ed. S. Wellons, brother of
the bride, and Miss ‘Lizzie Wal

Mr, Ben Wallace, brother of
groom, and Miss Lela Belle' Park

Mr. Calnway Riley and Miss
Kate Day.
The guests were relatives and
the young friends of the bride and
groom.
The parlor and hall were taste
fully decorated, and the large
number of beautiful presents at

couple.
At 1:55 p. m. the pridal party
left Perry on the train for Fort
Valley, and thence to Atlanta.
The happy pair are now at home
at Charleston, S. C.
They have the cordial congratu
