WE HAVE BEEN
LOOKING...
For several years for a case of Piles,
Boils, Outs, Burns, Bruises, Sore and
Fevered Breast, Old Sores, Insect Bite
or Sting, Ringworm or Tetter, that Mrs.
Pope’s Mullen Salve would not
oure, but so far we have been agreeably
disappointed. The verdict or all who
have used it is that it’s the one quick,
absolute and perfect healer. Nothing on
earth like it. Nothing sensational or
fakey about it. It stands on its merit
It is put up in a neat -and pretty pack
age. Use it. Your money back if you
are not satisfied. If your druggist does
not have it in stook.send us 50 cents-an

Spinster Club.
Mrs. 0. 0. Duucan, Jr enter
tained the Spinsters most royally,
Saturday, March 21st, 1908.
In her invitation to the Spin
sters she requested that they all
should wear aprons and it is need
less to say, we were wild with cu
riosity.
Ill spite of the threatening
weather, every one waB out in full
force and we were fully repaid for
daring the elements.
After all the guests had arrived
we were told to don oUr aprons,
wash our hands, and were then
marched into the dining room.
Several tables had been prepar
ed for us, and we went to work.
Parched peanuts to shell, to be
made into candy, dates to seed,
fowdant to work up into creams
and to stuff the dates, candy to
make and pickles and sandwiches
to eat, to which we did full jus
tice.
The Spinsters then went into
the parlor to discuss the current
topics of the day, while the ma
trons filled bon bon boxes with
some of all the good things that
had beeh made.
They were presented to the
young ladies as favors. Miss
Corriune Baldwin was the lucky
winner of the prize box—a dainty
affair indeed—heart shaped, done
in water colors by the fair hand
of the hostess.
We had a glorious good time
and don’t hesitate to say that it
-was the most enjoyable affair it
has ever been our privilege to at
tend.
The Spinsters and matrons
join me in extending to Mrs.
Duncan our most sincere thanks.

faithful member of
church.
She leaves a husband, four
daughters, four sons,..three sisters,
three brothers, and several grand
children with a host of friends to
mourn her loss. She was affiiot-
ed for two years, but three weeks
and two days prior to her death
she was confined to her bed, and
all was done that loving hearts
and kind friends, and a skilled
physician could do, but all was in
vain.- From all evidence she bore
her suffering and trust with the
Lord, and she said to one of her
daughters, “she saw the angels
and they were beckoning her
home.”
She lived a life of devotion to
God and to her church, and espe
cially to her devoted husband,
and dear children, she was the
sunshine of their home. The wri
ter can say, “I never knew a bet
ter and truer friend than she was.”
Giving a glad welcome to both
friends and strangers at her home.
Oh dear ones, we know it was so
hard to give her up, but He, our
Heavenly Father, who has per
mitted this sad affliction to fall
upon us. He never infliots a lieav-
eir blow than He affords us
strength to bear. Her exemplary
life is a benediction to you; to
tie you closer to your loving Sav
iour. So bereaved ones, live bo as
to meet her in the eternal home,
where there is no more parting,
no more sorrow and tears. We
have a glorious hope that she has
reached the bright coast with
songs and everlasting joys.
She was laid to rest at Byron
cemetery, and burial services were
conducted by Rev. A. A. Garrett
of Fort Valley. Many friends
with the grief-stricken ones in
their sad loss extend their heart
felt sympathy and love.
All is dark without thee,
Lonely are our hearts to-day,
For the one we loved so dearly,
Has so sadly passed away.
We miss thee from our home,
mother,
We miss thee from thy place,
A shadow over our life is oast,
We miss the sunshine of thy face.
We miss thy kind and willing hand,
Thy fond and earnest care,
Our home is dark without thee,
mother,
We miss thee everywhere.

—In talking at the fair associ
ation meeting last Saturday, Mr.
Joel T. Walker of near Bonaire
referred to the good results of the
old Idyl Wylde agricultural club.
He said that prior to the organi
zation of that club, the produc
tion ol 25 bushels of corn per
acre had scarcely been known,
nor a bale of cotton per acre, but
in the contests that followed, 75
bushels of corn had been grown
on one acre, and from 1| to two
bales of cotton per acre in a few
instances. The soil is as good now
as then. ^
