Sir Waiter Raleigh’s Head The body of Sir Walter Raleigh was buried in the chancel of St. Margaret’s church, Westminster. His head was embalmed and kept by his widow in a red leather bag as long as she lived. Her son in- ' herited the bag, which never left his mother's side, but the fate of the head of Sir Walter after it came into his possession is not known. !
