bration of his 17th birthday.

week with his mother, Mrs. W.

there they will have as their

Mr. George Blanton of Red
ding, Pa.
Mr. and Mrs. T.L. Warren had
as their guests for dinner Sun
day Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Grimes

Beckham. The occasion was
Mrs. Warren’s birthday.
Mr. Arthur Cobb of Atlanta
spent the weekend here. He will
return next week to visit his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C.
Cobb, for Christmas.
Mr. and Mrs. Cohen Walker
'Gil leave Dec. 25 for Warthen,
Ga. to visit his parents. Mr. and
Mrs. David Walker, for several
days.
Hentz Houser, son of Mr. and
Mrs, F. M. Houser, celebrated
his seventh birthday last Thurs
day, Dec. 12, with a weiner roast
at his home. Twelve little friends
were present on this happy oc
casion.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Riley and
daughter, Shelley, of Uniontown,
Pa., spent several days this week
with her mother, Mrs. N. C.
Wellons, and other relatives,
while enroute to Miami, Fla, to
spend the holidays with their
daughter, Mrs, Andre Tillman.
The Rileys will return here for a
further visit before going home,

was a guest at a tea Saturday
given in honor of Miss Marjorie
Powell, bride-elect of Mr. W. C.
Massee.

Christmas Day in Macon with

The center piece of the dining
table was the lovely cake, iced
in green, embossed with red
poinsettias, and topped with a
candle in the shape of Santa
Claus. Christmas decorations
were attractively arranged
throughout the home. The meal
was served buffet style. The
small tables used by the diners
were decorated with Santa Claus
candles which held the place
cards.
The guests were: Mr. and
Mrs. Beckham, Mr. and Mrs.Eu
gene Beckham and son, Billy,
Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Cobh, Mr.

BRIDGE PARTY
Mr. and Mrs. Mayo Davis will
be hosts at two Bridge parties
this week. Thursday night Mrs.
Davis’ club members and their
husbands, and a few additional
friends will be included in the
twenty-four guests. F riday
night, sixteen couples will be
entertained at the attractive Da
vis home.
Christmas decorations will be
arranged throughout the rooms.
Red balls and gilded pine cones
will adorn the mantel. Holly and
red pyracantha berries will be
used.
The dining table will be cen
tered with a tiered, confection
stand, with red and white candy
walking canes in swirl effect
outlining its base. Ruffling and
red ribbon will mark the cir
cumference of each tier.
The entrance doorway of the
I home is decorated in blue.
After the games, a delicious
salad course will be served.
BRIDGE TEA
Mrs. Artemus Braddock and
Mrs. Drew Harris entertained
with a delightful Bridge-tea
Wednesday afternoon at the
home of the former.
The Christmas idea was car
ried out in the decorations and in
the tasty menu served. A Christ
mas tree and holly arrangements
were placed in the rooms used
for entertaining.
Twenty-four played Bridge
and five other guests came in
for tea. ,
Miss Emma Curtis, of Louis
ville, Ky., Mrs. Mary Allen Dan
iel and Charlotte Daniel, of Al
bany, Ga., and Miss Mildred
Curtis, of Meridian, Miss., will
arrive Friday to spend ten days
with their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
W. A. Curtis.
