CALVARY!
0 Cross, what would you teach
me as I gaze
Upon thy rugged form, and see
the Son — j
The precious Son of God uplifted
there?
The sinless Christ! What woe- 1
ful wrong is done
That sinful men should cry out
for His blood,
And He, forgiving, utter not a
word
Hut die for me, for all who e’re
would know
The curse of Sin, and need a re- 1
deeming Lord.
Oh, here beside thee, let me
learn of love
That gives its all, and grows by
sacrifice
More strong and true. Th e
Father’s will He chose,
And moved with steadfast step.
to pay the price.
0 Cross of Calvary center of j
our faith!
Recall to men the lonely way He
trod,
Who conquered death, left suf
fering sanctified
That men might see the very
heart of God.
