MISS COLLINS BRIDE
OF MR. CHAS. ANDREW*
A marriage marked by beauty
and dignity was that of Miss
Marjorie Elizabeth Collins, of
Baxley, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. F. W. Collins. Sr , to Mr
Charles Harbin Andrew, of Per
ry, which was solemnized at 6:30
o’clock, Sunday evening in the
First Baptist Church, Baxley.
The Rev. E. A. Kilgore offi
ciated following a program of
nuptial music presented by Miss
Aleta Rutland at the piano and 1
;Mr. H A. lauch singing “Could
; I and You.”
The chancel was decorated
j with baskets of white gladioli in 1
the front and ferns interspersed

was gracefully festooned over
the chancel and around the bal

The guests were escorted to
their seats by Dr. B. E. Collins,

Milledgeville, Miss Madge Moss,
of Calhoun, Mrs. Carey B. An
drew, Jr., of Perry, Miss Chris
tine Dunn and Mrs. Robert
Sweat.
The bride’s wedding dress of
white satin was a basque effect!
bodice, round neckline and long,
sleeves with a bouffant skirt. A
fingertip veil of illusion tulle!
was held to her hair by a coro-'
net of orange blossoms. S h e|
carried a prayer book cascaded
with ribbons and white orchids. !
Mrs. F. W. Collins, mother of
the bride, wore a handsome model
of aquamarine crepe and her cor
sage was pink rose buds. The!
mother of the bridegroom, Mrs. j
Carey B. Andrew, Sr., was
dressed in a becoming lavendar
chiffon and her corsage was pink
and white rose buds.
Following the ceremony, Mr.
and Mrs. F. W. Collins, parents
of the bride, entertained at a
wedding reception. The color
scheme in the dining room was
'green and white.
Mr. Andrew and his bride left;
after the reception for a wedding'
trip to the mountains of North
Carolina and upon their return!;
they will reside in Perry where !
Mr. Andrew is in the hardware

DUPREE-TALTOK MARRIAGE
HELD IN HAWKINSVILLE
HAWKINSVILLE, Ga. Oct. 5
The wedding of Miss Doris
Everett DuPree and William
Robert Talton of Kathleen was
solemnized Tuesday evening at
the home of the bride’s parents.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, was at
tended by her sister, Mrs. VV. C.
Talton, matron of honor, who
was gowned in rose faille taffeta
and carried bronze chrysanthe
mums. The bridesmaids, Misses
Katherine DuPree, sister of the
bride, and Fay Walker, sister of
the groom, were gowned in pink
and blue faille taffeta, and car
i vied bouquets of yellow chrysai -
ithemums.
I Joyce Reynolds, cousin of the
bride, was the flower girl,dressed
in yellow taffeta. Little Jimmie
Talton, nephew of the bride, car
ried the ring, G. T. Pierce Jr.
of Perry was best man, and the
groomsmen w'ere Cullen, Andrew,
and Richard Talton,all of Perry.
The bride wore a gown of
white faille taffeta, the bodice
having a sweetheart neckline,
and long, tight fitting sleeves
; ending in a point over the hand
and fastened with self-covered
i buttons. The full skirt ended in
a long train. Her veil of sheer
silk net was held in place with a
! coronet of seed pearls and orange
blossoms. Her bouquet was of
white roses and orchids. Her
only ornament was a diamond
necklace in butterfly design,own
ed by her aunt, Mrs. John W.
Turner, the former Miss Jeanette
DuPree.
The ceremony was followed by
a reception given by the bride’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs, J. D Du-
Pree,
