S. A. NUNN, H. D. PALMER,
Mayor City Clerk and Treasurer
TO THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF PERRY:
Our sewerage system is practically completed and in the main part of town it is now ready
for use. The Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Perry have duly adopted the following
resolution:
“Whereas the City of Perry is now constructing a city wide sanitary sewerage system:
and whereas the Mayor and Councilmen realize that it is difficult under present war conditions
for the individual property owners to have their own connections made with said City sewerage
( system: and whereas the Mayor and Councilmen have succeeded in contracting with a reputa
ble contracting firm to install all connections under one contract at a uniform price:
“Now Therefore, be it resolved by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Perry that the
City of Perry will act as agent for all property owners in the City of Perry to have connections
made for all business and residence properties, where the owner of same within ten (10) days
from this date requests the City of Perry in writing to have such connection or connections made:
“Resolved further that each property owner shall pay all costs for installation of such con
nections from the point of his present sewerage discharge outlet at his house or place of busi
ness across his property to the property line and from the property line to the middle of the
street, in which street the City sewer main is located, regardless of whether the sewer main is
located in the center of the street or on the side of the street.
“Resolved further that where such connection is to be made on a paved street and cutting
and replacing of such pavement is necessary, or the tunneling under such pavement is neces
sary, that the City of Retry will pay the costs of cutting and replacing the pavement or the
tunneling under such pavement; this obligation on the part of the City to expire ninety (90)
days after the passage of this resolution.
Resolved further that in making any connection for property owners under this resolution,
the City of Perry shall act solely as the agent of the property owner and shall not be responsible
for damage to plants, shrubs, lawns, nor for any damage occasioned in any way whatsoever by
the constiuction of said sewerage connection on the private property of the property owners.
The J. B McCrary Company Inc. r Contractors, will be ready to start the work of making
connections about Monday, Nov. 22nd. The price at which they will do this work is 80c per
