mal party.
Assisting in entertaining were
Mrs. T. W. Hentz, Mrs. A. S.
Gossett, Mrs. W. F. Norwood,
Mrs. W. V. Tuggle, and Mrs.
Mayo Davis.
Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Sam
A. Nunn and Mrs. Johnnie L.
Gallemore entertained with a
lovely seated tea at Mrs. Galle
more’s home. Twenty-six guests
were present. Mrs. Geo. Keeler
assisted in entertaining.
Tuesday night, Mr. and Mrs.
Mayo Davis were hosts at a din
ner party at their home.
Wednesday morning, Mrs. W.
V. Tuggle had a delightful party
for the visitors at her home.
Thirty-two guests were present. |
Mrs. Ralph Tabor of Fitzgerald;
was an out-of-town guest.
Mrs. Eugene Beckham gave a
luncheon at the New Perry Hotel
Wednesday. Covers were laid
for twenty guests.
Wednesday night, Mr. and
Mrs. Pritchett were hosts at a
barbecue supper at their home
I for their visitors. Out-of-town
guests were Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Snow, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Cope
land, and Mr. Everett Sammons
of Macon. Forty guests enjoyed
this delightful affair.

“Agriculture might center its
efforts after the war on trying to
get a larger slice of a small pie,
rather than make vigorous ef
forts, along with others, to as
sure a large pie,” says Raymond
C. Smith of the U. S. Depart
ment of Agriculture in the sum
mer issue of Land Policy Review.
“But an equitable share of a
large pie would almost certainly,
be better for agriculture than an
ineqitable large share of a small
pie, for without efforts to bring
about an expanding economy a
small pie is likely to shrink to an
even smaller size.
All of this is not to say that
agriculture should not plan for
agriculture itself. It is simply
to say that an important part of
the agricultural problem lies out
side of agriculture, and that this
portion must receive attention
along with the rest of the prob
lem.
On the one hand, agriculture,a
part of a national and of a world
economy, has to plan, along with
other groups, to bring about the
kind of a national economy and
the kind of international rela
tions that it needs. On the oth
er hand, it has to plan for mak
ing adjustments in agriculture to
meet whatever national and in
ternational situations may actual
ly evolve.”

vegetables and fruits; (4) milk;
