SAFETY SLOGANS
Never be in a hurry to move
an injured person until the ex

known. A splintered bone may

Only when there is serious bleed

Never give an unconscious per
son water or liquid, as he is not
capable of swallowing it.
Keep an injured person lying
down. Do not walk him around
or make him sit up.
At flood stage the Amazon
river in some places reaches a
width of several hundred miles.
A cow must eat over 100 lbs,
of grass to produce from 20 to 25
lbs. of milk.
A modern glass blowing ma
chine on which glass bottles and
glass jugs are made has 10,000
I parts.
Over 2,400,000 persons were
disabled last year because of in
dustrial accidents.
Eighty percent of the cases of
cancer among men occur in the
stomach.
Ice from the last ice age which
began 30,000 years ago is slowly
disappearing as the glaciers keep
melting. In Antarctica there
still remains enough glacier ice
to cover the world to a depth of
120 feet.

It is predicted that the 1944
egg surplus won’t recurr soon.
Midsummer chick hatchings are
only one-third of last year’s vol
ume. Feed scarcities and reduc
ed profits are driving many back
yard poultrymen from business.
The supply however, is expected
to be kept in balance by autumn
hatchings.
