"personal mention Miss Caroline Hodges and Miss «u-an Daughertry of Atlanta visited here last Thursday. Frederick Thomson of Fort Valley spent the weekend with Misses Jean and Marion Grubb. Miss Marion Grubb returned Tuesday to Jackson where she is a member of the school faculty. Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Ander son Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Kersey, and Mrs. C. K. Cooper returned Tuesday from a trip to Panama City, Fla. Mrs. L. H. Gilbert was hostess to her Bridge club last Thursday. Miss Annis Jean NeSmith had as her guest last week Miss La- Wanda McCaller of Savannah, Mrs. R. H. Morgan and Miss Jane Morgan of Macon visited Mrs. N. W. H. Gilbert last week. Tommy Marshall went Tuesday to Bob Jones College in Cleve land, Tenn. where he enrolled in the freshman class. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Marshall Jr. accom panied their son to Cleveland and are on a vacation trip to the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. Miss Mary Paul has accepted a position as teacher of the fifth grade in t h e Warner Robins grammar school. Mr. Walter Gray Jr. visited friends in Atlanta last week. Miss Marie Armstrong has ac cepted a position on the ‘faculty of the Union Hill school near Cochran. Mr. and Mrs. L, M. Paul at tended the funeral of her aunt, Miss Stella Holden, in Crawford ville, Friday. Mr. Hilt Gray has returned from a vacation trip to Miani.Fla. Sgt. and Mrs. Buford Rushing of Macon visited his aunt, Mrs. Oma Kunz, Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Van Hart are visiting in Kendallville, Ind. and Detroit, Mich. James Watt Rainey re turned Sept. 4 from two years service in the Pacific war area. Cpl. Rainey saw action in New Guinea, The Philippines, and i Okinawa and was in service over 'three years. He was honorably| discharged from the Army at Fort McPherson, Ga. on Sept. 9 land is in Perry with his parents, 1 Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Rainey. I Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Miss Jesselyn Griggs left Tues day for Lamar, Colo, where she will visit with the relatives of her fiance, Capt. Frederick E. Dole. Miss Griggs’ marriage to Capt. Dole will take place in Colorado Springs, Colo, on Sep tember 15. Billy Watts, Talbotton, Ga., is spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. J. L, Hodges. Mrs. Felton Norwood visited her sister, Mrs. W.
