was the guest speaker at the
meeting of the Wednesday Af
ternoon Book club held October
17 at th 3 home of Mrs. G.E. Jor-;
dan. The other hostesses were:

Greene. Mrs. S. A. Nunn intro
duced the speaker. Mrs. W. FT I

eluded the Sorosis club and Mrs.
Maddox and Mrs. F’itzgerald of
Rochelle, and a new member,
Mrs. Joe Mitchell.
Mrs. Mashburn spoke on
“Reading, Its Peculiar Pleasur
es.” She urged that children be
taught the love of good literature j
.while young, taking her audi
ence with her down the memory I
! lane of literature and back to
preseitday study club work.
A delightful social hour was
enjoyed in conclusion. The Jor
dan home was attractively [.dec
orated with fall flowers for this
occasion.
