The petition of Neal M. Phelps,
Royce F. Valley, E. A. Anderson,
Graver Maddox, Quinton E. Roberts,
Gussie L. Marks, C. K. Rodgers,
Henry R. Ward, Grady McCrimmon,
W. A. Cuff, Taylor Brundege, C. O.
Graham and Jim Salters, all of the
State and County aforesaid, respect
fully shows:

That they desire themselves, their
associates and successors to be in
corporated as a non-protit patriotic
social and charitable organization
under the name and style of ‘'AR

AH of the petitioners are officers
1 in the aforementioned post of The
American Legion and it is desired
that said corporation, when created,
shall be the successor to the unin
corporated Arthur Leonard Johnson
Post No. 172, The American Legion,
Department of Georgia which is lo
cated at Warner Robins, Georgia in
said County and which is a post of
the National American Legion cre
ated by an act of Congress, and
members of the present organiza
tion shall not be divested of any
rights they have in the same but
shall have rights in the corporation
equivalent to their interest in th>‘
present unincorporated post, and it
is desired that the parliamentary
design of the unincorporated post
be maintained in the corporation
until such time as the membership,
all of whom are desirous of having
this corporation created, see fit to
change the same by. appropriate ac
tion.

The objects and purposes arc as
follows:
a. For God and country, we asso
ciate ourselves together for the fol
lowing purposes: To uphold and de
fend the Constitution of The United
States of America; to maintain law
and order; to foster and perpetuate
a one hundred percent American
ism; to preserve the memories and
incidents of our association in the
Great Wars; to inculcate a sense of
individual obligation to the com
munity, state and nation; to combat
the autocracy of both the classes
and the masses; to make right the
master of might; to promote peace
and good will on earth; to safe
guard and transmit to posterity the
principles of justice, freedom and
democracy; to consecrate and sanc
tify our comradeship by our devo
tion to mutual helpfulness,
b- To purchase, lease or other
wise acquire real property, lease
holds or other interests or rights to
real property wherever situated,
and to hold. own. operate, manage,
maintain, imnrove. sell, convev.

where they may have various en

connection with the operation of a
Post of The American Legion.
e- To borrow money for its corp
orate purposes, and for money so
borrowed, or in payment of money
acquired, or for any other lawful
object and purpose of the corpora
tion, to make, execute, accept, in
dorse, issue and deliver bonds, notes,
bills of exchange or other obliga
tion, secured or unsecured.
f. To do all and everything nec
essary, suitable and proper for the
accomplishment of any of the pur
poses or attainments of any of the
objects, or the furtherance of any
of the powers herein set forth; eith
er alone or in association with other
corporations, firms or individuals,
and to do every other act or acts,
thing or things incidental or ap
purtenant to or in connection with
the said aforesaid objects or powers,
or any part or parts thereof; and to
have all the rights, powers and
privileges, now or hereafter confer
red by the laws of the State of
Georgia in reference to non-profit
societies, and charitable organiza
tions, or any act amendatory there
to or supplemental thereon or in
substitution therefor.
4.
Petitioners desire that they be in
corporated for a period of thirty
five (35) years.
5.
The principal office of said corp
oration shall be located in said
County.
6.
The Post Office address of all of
the applicants is Warner Robins,
Georgia.
WHEREFORE, petitioners pray to
be incorporated under the name and
style aforesaid with -the powers,
privileges and immunities herein
set forth, and as are now, or may
be hereafter be allowed a corpora
tion of similar character under the
laws of Georgia.

been presented, read and considered
and a certificate of the secretary of
the State of Georgia having been
presented showing that there is no
other corporation of the same name
now registered in his records; and
it appearing that the charter sought
is within the scope and provisions
of the laws of the State of Georgia;
it is therefore ordered and adjudged
that petition be and the same
is hereby granted and that the pe
titioners, their associates and suc
cessors be and they are hereby duly
incorporated and chartered under
the name and style of “ARTHUR

INC.”, for a period of thirty-five
(35) years, with all the rights, pow
ers, privileges and immunities as
