June 6, 1946 Federal Land Bank Now Privately Owned The Federal Land Bank of Co lumbia is now entirely owned by the farmer members of the 85 na tional farm loan associations and a small number of direct borrow ers in the Third Farm Credit Dis trict, according to a statement : received this week from Julian H. Scarborough, president of the 1 bank, by M. L. Cook. Jr., Secre- i tary Treasurer of the Montezuma National Farm Loan Association. The final payment of approxi mately $5,000,000 of the Govern ment’s investment was made on May 1.” Secretary-Treasurer Cook said. The Montezuma Association has a farmer-owned captal of $42,990, all of which is invested in capital stock of the Federal Land Bank. The office is located at Montezuma, and handles the making and servicing of land , bank loans in Macon, Peach. | Houston, Schley, Marion, Taylor, Chattahoochee, Muscogee, Bibb, and Crawford Counties.
