. Iron Meteorites
Differences in internal structure
of iron meteorites which crash into
the earth from outer space may
yield clues as to the past history
of these strange newcomers. Iron
meteorites are composed chiefly of
iron and nickel with small
amounts of cobalt, phosphorus, sul
fur and other elements. The iron
nickel alloy known as taenite oc
curs in most iron meteorites. It is
rarely possible to separate pure
: taenite in sufficient quantities to
analyze it, but the structure of
one meteorite permitted the me
chanical separation of enough of
this material for analysis. Taenite
varies in chemical composition, and
it is believed that the higher the
percentage of nickel contained, the
lower the temperature of the forma
tion of the taenite.
Honey Preparations
Honey can be used as an ingre
dient in salads and in salad dress
ings. For honey fruit salad, mix l x k
cups of diced fruits with V-k cups
of diced celery and Vz cup of warm
honey. Mix together a teaspoonful
of lemon juice and another of pre
pared mustard, and add them to 2
cups of whipped cream. Combine
this with the fruit, arrange the
mixture on lettuce, top with cher
ries, and chill before serving. To
make honey salad dressing, beat
two egg yolks, add Vi cup of hot
honey, and cook this mixture for a
short time, beating it continually.
Fold in the juice of % lemon to
gether with IVz tablespoonfuls of
salad oil, a pinch of salt and Vs tea

WHAT FUTURE'
AS A FARMER?
>-
As a farmer you want your fair share of the national income. V* '
In order to get it, don’t you think you'll need a strong, independent
farm organization? One that wil act in your interest when Congress,
leaders in the government, business, and labor are considering policies
affecting prices, wages, taxes and related matters? How much can you
do alone?
The Farm Bureau brings to bear on questions national policy the con
clusions and influence of 828,000 farm families who are members of 46 ;
state Farm Bureau organizations. State and local Farm Bureaus are
•ctive on matters within their fields.
YOU CAN HELP YOURSELF by joining the Farm Bureau or by con
