the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Byron

moved into their new home in

Mrs. T. L. Hendrix returned
Tuesday from Petersburg, Va.,
(where she has been for two
months.
Mrs. Julius Heard of Kathleen
has returned home after visiting
. her son, Jack Knight, and Mrs.
Knight in Cantonment, Fla., and
her daughter-in-law, Mrs, Har
mon Knight, in Mobile, Ala.

The lovely marriage ceremony i
of Miss Agnes Lawrence and T.
F. Hardy, Jr., was solemnized on
the evening of August 30 at the
home of Miss Lawrence's sister,
Miss Mildred Davenport of Ma
con, The Rev. James A. Ivey of
the Perry Baptist Church per
formed the double ring cere
mony.
Miss Lawrence wore a jewel
green traveling suit and wore a
spray of orchids at the shoulder.
Her accessories were winter
black.
The out-of-town guests were
delightfully entertained at a re
ception following the ceremony,
Mr. and Mrs. Hardy left for a
short wedding trip to Highlands,
North Carolina.
Mrs. Hardy formerly held a po
sition with Georgia Power Com
pany, Mr. and Mrs. Hardy are
now making their home in Perry
where Mr. Hardy is employed by
Andrew Hardware Company.

W.S.C.S. will be held at the
home of Mrs. A. M. Anderson,
Jr., on Monday at 4 p.m. Mrs.
G. W. Hicks, president.
Commander Phil Anderson has
called a joint meeting of the ex
ecutive committees of the Ameri
can Legion Post and the Legion
Auxiliary for 8:15 p.m. Tuesday,
Sept. 24, at the Legion Home.
Important plans for coordinating
the programs of the Legion and
Auxiliary will be discussed.
A chicken supper will be given
at the Clinchfield Presbyterian
Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday,
Sept. 20, under the auspices of
the Ladies Club of the church.

A Grovania Community meet
ing and barbecue supper will be
held at Grovania school house at

Miss Jane Morgan.daughter of

lege. She has been a student at
the University. Mrs. Morgan,
who recently underwent an op
eration at Mercy Hospital, Ma
con, is recuperating at the home
of Mrs. Paschal Muse, her
sister.
