LUSCIOUS IN COTTON
e.
Smart and lovely in her two-piece flowered cotton playtuit, Joan I
Winfield, Warner Sros. starlet who is currently appearing in “A Stolen'
Life,” rests up from a strenuous day's activities on a bed of flowersl
which almost match up with those on her midriff cotton. The cotton!
outfit is one of the season's most fetching play creations, the National;
: Cotton Council reports.
Citrus Vitamin
If breakfast citrus juice is
squeezed the night before as a time
saver, keep it cold and covered,
remembering that the less air space
there is between juice and contain
er top, the better for vitamin C.
With these precautions, citrus Juice
will lose little of its most valuable
yitamin, even if stored for 24 hours.

heating value to a ton of coal.
Handy Blackboard
A small blackboard hung in the
kitchen is a good way to keep track
of cooking times. It's also a handy
reminder of needed staples and er
rands that have to be done.
Scottish Superstition
Scottish babies were once care
fully guarded until after their chris
tenings, in the belief that fairies

Darning’ Tips
When darning, use a fine needle
and short thread, as long thread
pulled back and forth across a tear
or hole tends to stretch the darn
out of shape. Darn on the right
side, but steam press the finished
darn on the wrong side, then brush
the right side to lift the nap.
