To Initiate Group
The Future Homemakers o f
f America held a meeting today to
’ complete plans for the initiation
of their new members. The ini
-1 tiation will begin Monday, All
the new members were required
to: (1) Wear dresses wrong side
1 out; (2) Wear high heel shoes
with socks; (2) Label their back
conspicuously with their boy
friend’s name; (4) Weara large,
unmatched bow ribbon in their
1 hair; (5) Wear make-np on one
and only one side of their face.

Miss Jones, the state librarian,
talked to the faculty Wednesday
afternoon on the subject of au
dio-visual education. Her talk
was illustrated by a film which
demonstrated the correct usage of
motion pictures in the classroom.
After the address, the faculty
discussed plans for the use of i

The basketball team will wear
white jerseys this year, with'
maroon numbers. They will con
tinue to wear the maroon trunks
and jackets they wore last year.

pletes repairs on them.
Mrs. J. 0. Coleman has been
unable t o teach her regular
classes Thursday and Friday be
cause of illness. Her daughter,
Mrs. Eugene Smith, has taught
in her place.

Jimmie Connell, vyinner of the
Houston County Spelling con
| test held here October 4, entered
the state contest at the South
eastern World’s Fair in Atlanta
Friday, He was eliminated.
Billy Clark, Allen Tabor. Mr.
John Etheredge, Mr. T. J. Gra
ham, and Miss Willie Etheredge
also went to the fair. Billy
Clark and Allen Tabor were
there in order to observe the
livestock.
