tions but the number is pitifully small for this vast State.
The big potential income that the tourist trade can bring into

haven’t enough sleeping facilities!
Make no mistake about it: the tourist trade is BIG
y BUSINESS! Virginia, among many other states, developed
its cultivation to a fine art. It paid off handsomely. In one
normal year, Virginia took in more than $97-million from

> For the time being, Mr. Cook
. said, the services will be continu
ed from the same offices with
the same personnel i n charge.
There will be no interruption in
loan services to farmers.
Under the new agency, Mr.
Cook said, it will be possible for
farmers to obtain operating loans
and farm ownership loans just
as they did before. The loans are
available only to farmers who are
unable to obtain credit upon rea
sonable terms from other sources.
The opportunities for family
type farm ownership, Mr. Cook
said, will be greatly enlarged.
Under the new act, it will be
possible for a small farm owner,
. whose acreage is insufficent for
the needs of his family, to ob
tain a farm enlargement loan.
I it will also be possible for small
I farmers to obtain farm develop
ment or farm improvement loans
for the construction of buildings,
fences or other needed improve
i ments. Veterans with pension
able disabilities will be able to
purchase a small amount of acre
age.
Houston County G.E.A.
Has October Meeting
The October meeting of the
Houston County G.E.A. met in
Perry on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
This meeting inaugurated a se
ries of discussions on topics of
interest to teachers. The dis
cussions were carried on in three
groups—the high schoolteachers
in one, elementary teachers in
another, and primary teachers in
the third.
The main business of the meet
ing was the reading and adop
tion of a constitution and the ap
pointment of the following pro
gram committee: Miss Dorothy
Jones, chairman; Miss Audrey
Andrews, Mrs. Helen Hawkins,
Mr. B. Rumble, Mr, David
Perdue.

during the legal hours of sale on

Georgia, and 50.49 acres in land
lot No. 161 in said 10th District
all lying in a body and contain
ing 321 acres, more or less, and
known as the Josiah Bass place.
A plat of said land is recorded in
Map Book 1, page 206, Clerk’s
Office, Houston Superior Court,
and referred to for all purposes.
This land will be sold subject to
a Federal Land Bank loan as of
record in Deed Book 34, page 41,
Clerk’s Office, Houston Superior
