Panthers Defeat
Byron, 22 to 19
In the closest ball game of the
Mc/>n. Pi>rrv hailed Byron a
22-19 defeat in Byron Friday

The Panthers trailed through
out most of the first two quart
ers, the halftime score standing
ing at 9to 8 in favor of Byron.
In the third period, three goals
in quirk succession made by Ed
win Thompson gave the Pan
thers a 3 point lead which kept
them out in front for the re
mainder of the game. In the
last two minutes of play, this
lead was cut to one point, when
Hilly Bledsoe, on a freeze play,
gave Thompson the ball for a
crip shot which decided the ball
game.

Three technical fouls were call
ed on Perry for complaining
about the officiating, one each
against Thompson and Whipple
and one against the Perry spec
tators. The officiating, to say
the least, was not up to par.
The Perry High Panthers cap
tured their sixth straight victory
of the season Tuesday night, de
feating Bonaire High, 35 to 12,

year. Capt. Clint Cooper led the

of Clint Cooper as treasurer.
Ed Thompson, our president, '■
presided over the meeting. He
nas just returned from the F. F.
A. National Convention held in
Kansas City, He reported a very
pleasant and inspirational meet
ing. The meeting was attended
by some 15,000 boys from all
parts of the United States and
many other Countries. President
Truman spoke to the Convention,
and the delegates attended the
International Livestock Show.
