meeting at the S and S cafeteria in
Macon Tuesday night, when Emory
men from 13 counties held their
annual reunion. Going from Perry

Dean Donald H. MacMahon of
Georgia Slate College for Women,
Milledgeville, will speak to two
audiences in Perry on Feb. 13.
He will speak before an assembly
at the Perry High School audi
torium about noon and will speak
to the new Delphian Club, which
will meet at the home of Mrs. Floyd
Tabor, at 3:30 p. m. that day. The
Wednesday Afternoon Book Club
will be the guests of the Delphian
Club for this meeting.
Dean MacMahon will speak on
Three Outstanding Women of Liter
ature. He will be accompanied by
Mrs. MacMahon and Mrs. Guy
Wells, wife of the president of G. S.
C. W.
Dr. MacMahon is a Harvard
graduate. He came to G S. C. W.
from Pullman, Washington, and had
previously been at Carleton Col
lege.

HEARS 1 WO REVIEWS
The Wednesday Afternoon Book
Club heard reviews of two books
at its meeting at the home of Mrs.
S. L. Norwood, with Mrs. D. M.
Ryle as co-hostess, last week.
The book, “Mr. Roberts”, by
Thomas Heggen, was reviewed by
Mrs. J. B. Calhoun. Miss Mary Lee
Greene reviewed the book, “All the
King’s Men," by Robert Penn-War
ren.
Plans for the new year were an
nounced at the meeting, over which
Mrs. W. E. Marshall, Jr., presided.
A social hour was enjoyed after
the program meeting.
Houston Boy in China
F. I Wargo, 18, first class, son of
John Wargo of Warner Robins, Ga.,
has visited the British Crown
Colony of Hong Kong, Chin, while I
serving aboard the destroyer USS
Brush. The Brush, part of the U.
S. Fleet in Asiatic waters, is tour
ing the China coast, Formosa, and
Korea.
