State Fire Bureau
Urged by Cravey
Georgia's need of a State Fire j
Prevention Bureau was emphasized
by Comptoller General Zach Cra
ve y, who is also State Insurance (
Commissioner, in addressing the
State Senate Appropriations Com
mittee.
Cravey foresaw the possibility of
incidents of arson in connection
with dwelling built during the in
flation period, when normal times
return, unless definite safeguards
or preventive measures are sot up
in advance.
He sought an increase in the
annual budget figure of his depart
ment to meet the cost of inaugurat
ing such a bureau.
STATE POULTRY INCOME
Georgia farmers received a gross
income of approximately $60,000,000
Irom poultry in 1946, according to
poultry specialists of the Georgia
Extension Service. Poultry ranked
third in the State as a source of in
come.
