the Wednesday Afternoon Book

turned Saturday from New Orleans,
La., where Dr. Gallemore attended
the New Orleans Graduate Medi
cal Assembly for several days.

semester Honor List last week. All

average, according to Miss Eliza

The meeting of the Perry Parent
Teacher Association will not be held
on the regular date next Tuesday,
March 11, but has been postponed
to Tuesday, March 18, because of a
district P. T. A. meeting being
held in Jeffersonville March 11.
The Sorosis Club will meet at 4
P- m. Thursday at the home of Mrs.
W. B. Evans.
The General Meeting of the Bap
tist W. M. S. will be held at the
church at 3:30 p. m. Monday, March
10. The Sunbeams will meet at thel
church at the same time.
New 4-H Awards
For 1947 Announced
Announcement has been made of
a brand new national 4-H home
improvement awards program for
1947.
Among the program’s objectives
are to encourage club members to
gain a knowledge of principles and
materials involved in making the
home more attractive and conve
nient at minimum cost; develop
skill in painting and simple carpen
try. and plan home improvements
for beauty, comfort, health, privacy
and safety i n keeping with the
needs of every member of the
family. Participants will demostrate
to others what has been learned
relative to home ’"furnishings, ar
rangements and interior decorat
ing praactices.
Both boys and girls who are bona
fide members working under the
supervision of the Extension Ser
vice and enrolled this year in a 4-
H home improvement project or
activity may participate.

Announcement is made today oi
the marriage of Miss Pearl Moore,
youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
J. A. Moore of Pinehurst, to Milton
3. (Pete) Howard, youngest son of
Mr. and Mrs. Abner Howard of
Perry.
The marriage was performed at
Vienna, Ga., Thursday evening,
Fob. 20 at 8 o,clock in the presence
of relatives and a few close friends.
Mrs. Howard, prior to her marri
age, was employed at Robins Fiend
as stenographer and bookkeeper.
Mr. Howard served 2Vi years in
the Navy, being assigned to an
Aircraft Carrier. Ho saw action in
both the Atlantic and Pacific. Ho
attained the rate of Second Class
Petty Officer.
After a short honeymoon. Mr.
Howard and his bride have an a
partment at the Manchester Hotel,
Manchester, Ga., where Mr. Howard
is night clerk.

Saturday night at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. H. P. Chapman. 1
Rev. M. O. Harrell, pastor of
Mikado Baptist Church in Macon,
performed the wedding ceremony.
Those present were Mrs. Lizzie
Abbott of Macon, mother of the
groom, Roy Bray of Columbia, S
C - and Mrs. M. O. Harrell
Mr. and Mrs. Abbott will make
their home in Columbia.

Twenty-five guests were invited.

given as favors to the guests. Ice
