Civic League Asks
Aid on Playground
The playground committee of the
Houston Civic League called this
week for volunters to help them
out in their plans for cleaning up
and putting the Armory Grove in
lip-top shape for the children.
Meeting at the home of Mrs.
Hugh Lawson Monday, the com
mittee found that materials and la
bor were needed and felt that vol
unteers would come to the front to
assist in this worthy effort. Mem
bers of the committee are Mrs. L.
H. Gilbert, Mrs. J. L. Gallemore,
Mrs. J. A. Beddingfield, Mrs.
Malcolm Dean, Mrs. C. O. Grimes
and Mrs. Lawson. Those who have
materials to contribute or labor to
offer are requested to call any mem
ber of the committee, or A. W.
Dahlberg, executive secretary of

Paint Job Done
By Roxy Theatre
The Roxy Theater got a new coat
of paint last week, helping the
looks of that part of town. The
signs also have been renewed and
i the front of the theater generally
improved in appearance.

C. E. Andrew, T. C. Rogers, J. M.
1 Tolleson, Jr., and S. A. Nunn, each
i of whose Post Office address is
Perry, Georgia, respectfully show
eth to the Court:
1. Petitioners desire for them
selves, others to be associated with
them, and their successors, to be in
corporated and made a body corpo
rate for and during a period of
thirty-five (35) years, with the
privilege of renewal at the expi
ration of said time, under the corpo
rate name and style of AMERICAN
LEGION COMMUNITY CLUB, INC.
2. Petitioners desire for themsel
ves and others to be associated
with them, to be incorporated as a
non-profit, charitable corporation,
and not for individual pecuniary
ngai, for the purpose of promoting
and supporting charitable, recrea
tional, athletic and educational en
terprises, causes and projects among
its own members and the people of
Perry and Houston County.
3. Said corporation shall have no
capital stock.
4. The principal office of the cor
poration shall be in the Town of
Perry, Houston County, Georgia.
5. Petitioners desire that they be
permitted to acquire property, both
real and personal, by lease, pur
chase, gift, devise and bequest; to
hold, use and enjoy same and to
sell, exchange or donate any such
real or personal property as it may
deem desirable or appropriate in
carrying out the purposes for which
incorporation is sought.
6. Petitioners desire that they be
granted authority to adopt such
rules and by-laws, not inconsistent
with the purposes of said corpora
tion, as may be deemed fit and pro
per to effectuate the purposes of
said corporation.
7. Your Petitioners present here
with a certificate from the Secre
tary of State of the State of Geor
gia, in manner and form as required
by law, certifying and declaring
that the name of the proposed cor
poration is not the name of any
other corporation now registered in
the office of the Secretary of State
of the State of Georgia.
Wherefore, Petitioners pray for
themselves, their associates and
successors, to be incorporated un
der the name and style aforesaid:
and that they be granted all the
rights, privileges and immunities
which are now or may be hereaf
ter granted or permitted by the
laws of the State of Georgia.

Reduction Ordered
At Warner Robins
A reduction in force to be carried
out at Robins Field in accordance
with a directive from Headquarters
Air Material Command will effect
some 350 civilians employees of the
WRAMA by April 30, Colonel R. V.
Ignico, the Commanding Officer,
announced.
The reduction is part of the over
all reduction for the Material Com
mand amounting to 11,200 classi
fied positions. The reduction for the
Georgia base, due to the importance
of projects currently being carried
out, is slight in comparison with the
overall reduction for Material Com
mand installations Colonel Ignico
stated. Under present plans, the
employee strength authorized for
April 30 payrolls is 3959 as compar
ed with a present strength of slight
ly less than 4300. The cut will be
entirely in graded positions, which
are largely administrative and over
head personnel. The annual pay
roll will be reduced from about $l2,
800,000 to $12,000,000.
