STUDENTS ATTEND BED CROSS MEET Jeanne Pierce and Deryle Whip ple were among ten other students irom the Macon Chapter of Junior Red Cross who attended a panel discussion held at the Macon Red Cross Chapter on Thursday. A. Nunn. Dear Mrs. Nunn: I thank you infinitely for the package received from the coopera tive yesterday. It contained 45 pounds. I wish you could have seen the children, dear Mrs. Nunn: Marie Therese at the center of the table, Marie Francoise kneeling down on a chair, Danielle sitting on the kit chen range. Jean was still in school, and he was not pleased when he heard that we had opened the pack age without him. Oh, so much joy, and all those excited voices.!!Really, dear Madame, you spoil us all, and is such a saving for me. I shall never be able to thank you enough. HOME JOURNAL Perry, Ga., Mar. 20, 1947 Mrs. Hodges Speaks To Delphian Club Mrs. John L. Hodges, former edi tor of The Home Journal, spoke to members of the Delphian Club at a meeting at the home of Mrs. F. M. Greene, Jr., last Thursday. Mrs. Pearsall Brown was co-hostess. Speaking on women in public affairs, Mrs. Hodges pointed out that Perry women’s clubs can as sist in community development by beautifying streets and public pro perty in Perry and the county. She suggested that Perry needs a recreation center, playground, swimming pool, more paved streets and a downtown building where Houston county products could be displayed. The following day, April 1, OPA begins the use of ten-pound stamps, with Sparc Stamp 11 becoming goou for that amount, A. D. Simpson, Jr., Regional Sugar Executive, said in Atlanta. "While Spare Stamp 11 will be good for ten pounds right on through September 30, we are hop ing the sugar supply will make it possible to declare another ten pound stamp good on July 1,” Simpson said.
