Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Friday meetings
arc in the Houston Medical Center Annex; Saturday meetings arc at the
Hodac Community Crisis Center, 404 Duke Avenue in Warner Robins.
Counselors providing free income tax assistance to older
taxpayers ol low to moderate income, and to younger persons who feel
they cannot alford professional assistance will be available at the
Houston County Public Library, 1201 Washington St„ Perry, from
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
1 he Middle Georgia Coin Club will sponsor its 31st Annual
Coin, Stamp, and Sports Card Show in the monument room of the
Macon Coliseum in Macon, Georgia on January 29, 30 and 31st. Today

Tucker Elementary gets
ready for special week
Tucker Elementary School is cel
ebrating School Counseling Week
Feb. 1-5. Activities have been
planned that relate to real life.
Monday is Friendship Day.
Effective communication, smiles
and good manners will be empha
sized. A Friendship Chain, made by
the students and staff, will be draped
around the cafeteria. The chain rep
resents the importance of working
together. Students will also put
their names on a bulletin board
entitled "Every Child a Winncr-and
Every Counselor, Too!"
Tuesday is Math Day. Students
will wear math problems for their
classmates to solve.

Thursday is Career Day. Students
will wear tags designating their oc
cupational interest. Students will be
encouraged it) dress as their chosen
career.
"Reading is for Life" is the theme
for Friday. Students and staff wall
wear T-shirts with written mes
sages.
Mrs. Ann Lanier is the guidance
counselor at Tucker. She is
available to assist students and
parents with academic concerns,
family concerns, social adjustments
or other problems that might
interfere with learning. Parents may
contact the counselor at 988-6278.
Houston County School System
is one of the few counties in
Georgia that has full-time guidance
counselors in the elementary
schools.
"The guidance and counseling
program at Tucker Elementary
School is committed to helping
students have a positive educational
experience," said Paul Hartman,
principal.
