The announcement comes from
Atlanta that the public school
teachers will not get the money
that is now due them until some
time in June, or perhaps later.
The teachers of the state are due
for their service at this time $240,-
000 and there is actually in the
treasury only $175,000 of this
amount. There is plenty of other
money in the treasury, but this’
$175,000'is all that is available for
school purposes. The gover
nor has announced that he will
not secure a loan until June, so
that the state will be called upon
to pay interest for only six
months. . v
The Washington Post, says that

in, the South Carolina- situation,
but’it will doubtless make a draft
upon the administration’s pie
