“We the Democrats of the 9th Cong.
Dist. in convention assembled, do
affirm our allegiance to the principles
pf justice and liberty upon which our
institutions are founded and which the
Democratic party has advocated from
the foundation of our Government to
the present time. During all these
years the Democratic party has resisted
the tendency of selfish interests to cen*
tralize the powers of the government
and has favored just taxation, economy
and honesty in the administration oj
the affairs of the government.
Protection to trade and commerce
against trusts and monopolies, liberty
and ioeal self government, freedom of
speech, freedom of the press, freedom
of conscience, the preservation of per
sonal rights and has faithfully ob
served the Constitutional limitations
and has supported and maintained the
form of Government established by the
founder of this republic.

Don't Want to Vote for Judge and
Solicitor of City Court.
The special called meeting of the
Democratic Executive Committee of
Hall county at the court house yester
day was largely attended, and by a
vote of 32 to 22 the resolution providing
that the names of the applicants for
Judge and Solicitor of the city court of
Hall county to be put on the ticket for
county officers to be voted for at the
primary August 7th, was voted down.
A clear majority of 10 was recorded
against the resollution.
Much interest was manifested in the
meeting, and people from all parts of
the county were oh hand to put them
selves on record about the matter.
They showed up decidedly against the
proposition. The friends of Solicitor
