heard a man say recently, “All
the need I can see that a woman
has for a home is to have a place to
‘go somewhere from,’ and a place
to ‘come from somewhere,’ to get
ready for the next trip.’’

It is right hard for the nervous
woman to keep cool. What a suf
ferer and an insufferable nuisance
is she whose nerves are unstrung
and whose teeth get on edge on
hearing certain noises ox touching
certain things. I knew one woman
who has fits, so to speak, if some
one at the table scratches a knife
on a plate, if someone beats a
tattoo on the table, if someone eats
a peach with the fur on. The best
thing she can do^ for herself is to
get three friends to help her for
on*» day. Put one to scraping
knife on a plate, another to eating
peaches without peeling, another
to beating a tattoo, while she her
self chews sand*—Griffin News.

SUGGESTIONS FOR THESE
HOT DAYS.
The best way to keep cool—-or as
cool as possible—these hot days is
to—Well, to simply keep cool.
That is to refrain from fretting
one's self into a stew over the fact
that the thermometer registers in
the 90’s. The person who really
suffers most from the heat is he
who fight* most energetically and
Unwisely against the heat, thereby
exciting the bloud vessels, increas
ing circulation and quickening
heart beats. Unless one’s head is
exposed to the direct rays of the
sum it is not necessary in this cli
mate-to suffer from the heat,
though, perhaps, one*9 energy and
capacity for doing is diminished.
A cold bath to start the day, a de
liberate and carefully made toilet,
a light—mostly fruit—breakfast,
and a purpose throughout the day
will do much to rob a hot day of
its terrors.
