Humorous Sayings From the Lips of
Youngsters.
Amy is a little maid of six. One
day she asked her mamma if people
always'' knocked when they went to
God’s house. Her mamma, scarcely
noticing what she said, replied:
“Yes, darling.”
A short time after it began to
thune&r, and Amy exclaimed:
“There ! Somebody’s got to God’s
house; I hear them knocking.”
Howard’s mother was going away

promised to return on a certain day.
He said: .
“I know you will come, mamma,
for you’re a real truther.”

friendships. If the hair
splitting is done on your
own head, it loses friends
for you, for every hair of
your head is a friend.
Ayer’s Hair Vigor in
advance will prevent the
splitting. If the splitting
has begun, it will stop it.

The Note Missent.
A young mac, whose gallantry was
•argely in excess of his pecuniary means
sought, to remed this defect and to
save the money required for the pur
chase of extensive flowers by arranging
with a gardner to let him have a bou
quet from time to time in return for
his cast-off clothes, says the Chicago
Tribune. So it happened that one day
he received a bunch of the most beauti
ful roses, which he at once dispatched
to his lady love. In sure anticipation of
friendly welcome, he called at the
house of the young woman the same
Evening, and was not a little surprized
at a frosty reception.
After a pause the young woman re
marked in the.most frigid tones: “You
sent me a note to-day.”
“A note—I?”
“Certainly, along with the flowers.
“To be sure, I sent you flowers but—”
“And this note was with the bouquet.
Do you mean to deny it?”
And the young man read: “Don’t for
get the old trousers you promised me
the other day,” . •
